UCSD Blue and Gold

Hey everyone,

Just got into UCSD. After awards and grants they estimate I’d be paying 10k/year. At the end, however, it states:

You appear to be UC Blue & Gold eligible based upon the income and residency information provided on your FAFSA. This Financial Aid Estimate indicates that your Blue & Gold eligibility is being met with the grant/scholarship awards on this estimate which will cover your UC Systemwide tuition/fees, currently estimated to be $12,294.

12294 is what my calgrant reward is. Does this imply that my blue and gold award is my calgrant? Am I to expect more from the blue and gold eligibility?

Any help or knowledge is appreciated

This is from the Blue and Gold Opportunity UC website:

If you are eligible, your systemwide tuition and fees will be fully covered by scholarship or grant money. The plan combines all sources of scholarship and grant awards you receive (federal, state, UC and private) to go toward covering your tuition and fees.

Students with greater financial need can qualify for even more grant support to help defray other educational expenses (like books, housing, transportation, etc.).

So yes, your Cal grant covers your tuition so that is your Blue and Gold award. It is not an additional scholarship on top of the Cal Grant/Pell Grant etc…
