<p>i'd say that UCSD would be a big reach based on your GPA alone. The average UCGPA for admits last year was 3.7 and above according to a UCSD admissions counselor. If you actually got those SAT scores you listed above...your chances would be slight reach/match. Based on GPA alone, The rest of the schools UCD and UCI would be slight reaches/ matches becasue their average UCGPA is like 3.6 above most GPAs around 3.9. But with the SATS scores..they would become matches/ or safe matches even. So make sure you get those SAT scores.</p>
<p>And about majors...applying to a non impacted major won't increase your chances in any way..but applying to an impacted major ( engineering/ architecture) will hurt your chances...</p>

UCI is a safe match - my cousin got in with 3.5 gpa and aroudn 1200 sat (old)</p>
