I would say your chances are pretty good

Can I ask what your un-weighted gpa is hc?

Berkeley: High match
UCLA: High match
UCSD: Match
UCI: Match

@boby my unweighted is about 3.55 or so.

thanks everyone, please keep chancing!

I honestly would not say UCLA and Berkeley are high matches, there average unweighted gpa is 3.8, with weighted gpa’s usually above 4.0 I am quite sure your gpa falls at or bellow the 25th percentile of accepted students by GPA. But you should still try obviously, you never know.

UCB: low reach/reach
UCLA: low reach
UCSD: high match
UCI: match

@boby Yeah my GPA is pretty bad but I’m hoping my courseload will lessen the damage a bit, but I doubt it.

Good luck with the process. You have great characteristics for UCSD.

Would applying to an engineering major affect my admission in any way?

You’re definitely good for all of them except Berkeley. Not that you wouldn’t get in, but it’s so competitive…Good luck though
Chance back?

UCLA and UCB might be difficult considering your UC gpa. Also, you don’t have any crazy ECs to help you stand out. I believe the average is over 4.1 UC gpa for both. Your SAT are high above average though and this should help. I would say all the other UCs are definite in’s, but UCLA and UCB are still challenging. Anything is possible though. Good luck and please chance me back! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1576421-what-my-chances-getting-into-usc-ucla-nyu.html

I’m not too concerned about UCB and UCLA, I actually want to go to SD a lot more than those two. Thanks for the chances, keep em coming please!

I’d also like to reask my earlier question: Would applying to an engineering major affect my admission in any way?

You are comfortably over the SAT average for UCSD but well below their GPA of 4.11.

I think it will come down to your ECs (which look pretty solid) and essay.

I’ll say 60% UCSD
70% for Davis
80% @ Irvine and SB.

bump please!

Berkeley engineering: Reach
UCLA engineering: Reach
UCSD engineering: High match

March 31st can not come any faster… bump!
