my junior year i got a 4.0 GPA (weighted). what is the likelihood of me getting into UC san diego?

Your GPA would put you in the bottom 16% of this years admitted students, your SATs are a bit above average.

I’d say its a reach. It depends on how much they like your ECs. They might also want to know how your debating has gone since your brilliant achievement sophomore year?

Give it a go, but you’ll be lucky to get in IMHO.

You have a chance. If you are making progress, then freshmen GPAs aren’t going to matter that much. Write good essays, though - that will boost your chances.

Highland_poppy, about debate thing, i sent them a list of all my trophies and awards, most of them are 1st-4th places, like i’ve gotten a LOT of trophies. do you think that would help?

The people saying its a reach are honestly morons imo, your interest in debate and ability in writing also I think makes you look better as apposed to one of those well rounded jack of all trades master of none kids, I would say you have very good chance.
