<p>honestly, your GPA is too low. the average UCSD GPA is around a 3.96.
You need to seriously up your SAT I and SATII scores to have a real shot at getting in.</p>
<p>Wow, a chance post already?! Sigh, I remember when I asked about my chances –> <em>feels nostalgic</em>.</p>
<p>But yea…like the people above had said, the GPA pretty low compared to the stats. But try to focus on your SAT’s and such and take a bunch of AP classes next year (and do good in them). Don’t give up hope entirely though…just REALLY try to boost up whatever you can now. A considerably rigorous courseload can counter a below average GPA to SOME extent. I stress the word “SOME” though .</p>
<p>How is the weighted average GPA of applicants for UC schools calculated? </p>
<p>Let’s say a student with a 4.2 GPA applies to UCSD as a safety school, gets accepted, but decides to attend a different college. Is his GPA calculated in UCSD’s weighted average GPA for the applicant pool, or will UCSD only consider the GPA of students that have accepted to attend the school?</p>
