uhh i think thats all..

so what are my chances?

oh one more thing. im taking a college apps course that helps me through application process.

okay people.. what do you think?

You def have a decent chance.
I was wondering, whats the ELC letter? I got one but i never turned it in D: because no one ever told me. Does it help you get into UCs?

thanks for ur opinion… really appreacite it…
the ELC letter is this “special” letter from the UCs requesting permission to see your transcript. Once they get your transcript (they base it on GPA) they take the top 4% and sent them a letter saying congrats. u got into ELC nad they give a ID/password to use.

so at the time of application. use the id and all so the system knows you are ELC.what happens is that colleges will see that youre the top 4% right, so they will give you a greater chance at applying (admission acceptance increase drastically)

for example it gives you auto-permission into UCSB, UCI, UCD, and some other (not so high-end ones, i guess).
but if you want to go to UCLA or UCB what happens is the acceptance rate will shoot up so now (if u have ELC) the ELC Admit rate is now 60%, and you need to nail the 40%.

in UCSD (where i wanna go) the ELC admit rate is 84% so its a pretty high spot. so thats why im eager to get it…

If you are in ELC than you are pretty much guaranteed admission.

Also, just because your school doesn’t offer the ACT doesn’t mean you can’t take it. You can register online at [ACT: Resources for Education and Workplace Success](http://www.act.org) and find a testing site near you and take the test there. That’s what I did, and I found that the ACT was easier than the SAT.

thanks nicho… but i kinda have decided that i dont wanna take the ACT (im already buried in AP Eng. 12 homework… so… yeah… but thanks really appreciate it…

but too everyone else who replys… can you tell me both IF i get in WITH and WITHOUT ELC (both please)

my school has a ranking of 8/10 according to this site… its pretty high up.this year (my calss) improved the entire schools CST scores and saved the school from govt take over. also we raised it to the highest ever gotten.

youre not going to get guaranteed entrance into ucsd just because youre an ELC student. ELC basically means that you will be guaranteed to at least one of the UC’s that accepts the program like UCI, UCSB, UCD etc UCLA, Berkeley, and UCSD do not guarantee it. Though if you are an ELC student the chances of admission to UCSD is slightly higher. I think there were 20 or so kids in ELC last year at my school and only 9 got accepted into UCSD.

i think you have a pretty good chance.

With a 2000, you should be fine. ELC will guarantee you a spot at 1 UC. It doesn’t help you get into others, ELC admit rates are high simply because it’s the top students who are designated ELC.
