UCSD: Changing majors & declaring minors post-acceptance

Okay, so I just TAG-ed to UCSD as a Communications major and UCSD is my first choice. I'm having a small dilemma because I'm still uncertain about my career choice. The other major I would have applied for would have been Economics: Management Science. I ended up TAG-ing as Comm. because I don't have my calculus prereqs done for Econ, but I'm taking accounting (a different prereq) and I'm just loving it. If I wanted to change majors post-transfer, how difficult would it be to hop from comm to econ? Would I not be able to take econ classes until I successfully change my major? Also, I'm planning to minor in accounting. Am I allowed to declare it before fall starts?
THANKS :)

I don’t know how changing majors works but for management science, nearly all the core classes require at least Math 20C to get into. Math 20C means you need 20A-20C done. The few exceptions are some of the elective economics classes.

If you have that then I don’t think there will be any problems.

oh that is great information  I’ll keep that in mind too! I know that prereq-wise, I’ll be good for the accounting minor… any information on that and changing majors from OP will also be appreciated!

bumping the thread! appreciate any help in advance!
