As I stated before, the meaning of my post was obvious. Please let's not split hairs over this :) I would be fine with all of your thoughts if English speaking student were allowed to take an SAT11 for their language. You must compare apples to apples. Did you "work hard" to learn to speak the language you were raised speaking? I think not. My point is obvious. The reason behind the English part of the SAT1's is also obvious. Students attending UCSD are attending an American school where courses (except foreign language) will be taught in English. Students will be expected to speak, read, and write in English. Of course they must meet some level of proficiency in English.

getting an 800 on any of the SAT II language tests is, in my opinion, almost worthless these days, so you need not worry about it being an unfair advantage.

lol, funny thing is, one of my foreign friends (from shanghai) whipped through the mandarin subject test, and scored something like a 780 -- something in the 40th percentile. he thought it was pretty funny. hehe

Yes bubbaz I got in and it no longer says the deadline has passed. I got into my second college instead of Warren I got Marshall =\ After looking at the colleges I want Muir so I probably won't be attending. I had a 3.7 UC weighted GPA and sats were 650v 690m 670w and sat2s were a 750 on math 2c and 620 on bio, I had really good ec's as well

yup language tests are a joke, especially if you've taken advanced language.
They're designed for about a level II class but I managed to take latin out of AP; easiest 800 ever, no prep.
