Reflection
Strengths: My academic record and test scores. Maybe the fact that all my extracurriculars are related to the field of English/writing.
Weaknesses: I wish I’d done more extracurriculars and been more extensively involved in general.
Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: My academic record and overall commitment to English in my classes and ECs
General Comments: I am seriously considering UCSD because it will be one of my options if I don’t get into UCLA.

^^ No offense, but I’m very curious as to why you received Regents. Your test scores are quite low for regents and the fact that you do not have any hooks.

May I ask what major you applied for?

@SwedishM8: To be honest, I was surprised that UCSD offered me Regents since it draws a larger pool of more competitive applicants than, say, UCR or UCSB (I got Regents at those campuses). On the other hand, I don’t think my test scores are that low in comparison to the typically accepted UCSD applicant (the 75th percentile is a 2030 SAT).

<a href=“Undergraduate Statistics”>Undergraduate Statistics;

(Of course, if we were talking about Regents at UCLA or Berkeley, then those scores would probably be in the ballpark of the high 2200s-2300s, which is definitely out of range for the majority of applicants, including me. Not that I care; I just want to be accepted.)

I applied as a declared English major (as mentioned in my original post under “Intended Major”) and listed Sixth College as my first choice.

Decision: accepted by phone call (:

where do we go to check admission decisions?

http://myapplication.ucsd.edu

Good luck to all of us!

PS. Their server is either swamped or down right now:

"HTTP Status 401 - MyApplication is currently unavailable to allow for system maintenance. Please check back later in the day.

type Status report

message MyApplication is currently unavailable to allow for system maintenance. Please check back later in the day.

description This request requires HTTP authentication (MyApplication is currently unavailable to allow for system maintenance. Please check back later in the day.).

Apache Tomcat/6.0.26"

Rejected.

ACT 33

Essays were all about gaming so no surprise. M made him put down UCSD, at least one other UC besides UCSC.

Good luck!

the website is still down. I’M SO NERVOUS :’(

Anyone know approximately what time decisions will be out?

People should definitely write what college they get into as well, so other members of the same college can meet friends (:

This is what I think. This HTTP Status 401 thing could be caused by one of these:

They release decisions by alphabetical order, like A’s arrive in the morning, and Z’s arrive at night.

They release waitlisted/rejected applicants before accepted (highly unlikely).

Everyone is trying to access it and it crashed (highly likely).

My friend (last name starts with A) checked at 8:45am and got waitlisted. But I can’t access mine, even if I checked literally 5 minutes after he checked. (Last name starts with G).

^^^

I’d go with your option 3. Site is crashing entirely due to the heavy traffic of online users.

@SwedishM8

Yeah, that’s the most reasonable option.

@ukulelekidd – I don’t believe it’s option 1, although we could easily check that by asking if anyone on CC has a last name of A, B, or C. I think option 3 is most likely. After people began checking, the site probably crashed under the stress, and it could have happened between the five minutes your friend checked and you checked.
