UCSD Class of 2018 Official Decisions Thread

Decisions are coming out in a week or so so I figured we should make a thread.

Post your decision/stats when you get your result!

Wait, really? Awesome. When was last year’s out?

Based off of the decisions thread last year some decisions started going out on around the 12th.

I’m nervous for this one. Ten days though that’s exciting. What is the acceptance rate and what are the average accepted stats?

Taken from the freshman profile for 2013:

Admit rate — Overall
36.8%

Admits
24,782

Applicants

California Residents (% of admits)
66.8%

Averages
High School GPA
4.11
ACT Composite Score

SAT Critical Reading

Would you compare ucsd as more of a ucb ucla tier school or more leaning to ucd and ucsb kinda?

^^
In between UCLA/UCB and UCSB/UCD.

Is ucsb or ucd more prestigious?

I’d say UCD, but I’d pick SB’s campus over Davis

UCSD is scheduled to call admitted students on the phone to congratulate them throughout this week (March 4-9). This is a tradition at UCSD. See: <a href=“Faculty Participation in the Early Calling Campaign for 2014 Admitted Students”>http://adminrecords.ucsd.edu/Notices/2014/2014-2-20-1.html</a>.</p>

^I didn’t know that!

Soooo some of us might hear as early as tomorrow, wow :o

Why don’t they send an e-mail instead?

Hold your horses, guys. Apparently, the call is only for historically underrepresented groups.

^^^ URMs?

@Lilliana330 It says so in the link posted above. I was looking through other threads, and I found that the purpose of the call is to encourage more minority students to enroll. Hope this helps.

@agreatperhaps13 :D

More information I dug up from Ms. Sun’s blog on UCSD focusing on minorities:

I can confirm that it is only underrepresented students. I’m a current UCSD student and am able to log onto the site to make a call, and there are only options for specific underrepresented ethnicities. And it’s also up to the staff/students (although students weren’t even notified of it officially) to decide how many calls they make, so don’t be disappointed if you don’t get one.

I just looked through some old CC threads, and in past years calls apparently were made to URMs, Regents, and engineers. And maybe some who didn’t fall into any of these groups. I am guessing faculty (not students) would make the Regents calls?
