It’s my top choice but I doubt I will get in. I think UC Merced or Riverside is more of a match for me.
hi guys! it’s my 2nd choice unless I get into their 8 year med program… (1st is UCLA)
@chubii what 8 year med program did you apply to? I heard those are rally hard to get into
UCSD’s is the only one I’m applying to haha… I originally was going to apply to a lot more but then I decided to just to UCSD
I submitted my application to UCSD under the major Cognitive Science & I’m SUPER nervous. It’s my first choice & I know for a fact my stats aren’t the best. I have a 4.0 UC GPA with a 1710 SAT. I’m taking the SAT again this Saturday & I’m hoping to raise it by AT LEAST 200 points, which will definitely higher my chances. But by the looks of it even that won’t be high enough. I wonder if I have a chance at Davis. Those are the only UC’s I applied to but I’m also part of the ELC (top 9%). Do you think my major will help at all since it’s not that competitive? This will be the first year it’s offered at Davis. Best of luck to everyone.
@JETER888 I’ve heard that unless you’re applying to an impacted major, the major isn’t considered. Good luck to you man. My GPA is also 4.0. I did terrible my sophomore year. Hopefully my junior year makes up. Got a 4.7 both semesters and a 32 on act. Still probably gonna get rejected from comp sci but oh well XD
Hi all! I applied to UCSD for political science. It’s my top choice in California and my third choice overall.
My dad went to UCSD and I’ve heard all kinds of awesome stories from him about his time there! I love the campus. I was actually nine when I first visited, and I’ve been going there about once every three-four months since I started high school for various events. The school really feels like home to me.
My UC GPA is 4.12 (I think) and my ACT is 31 but I know that students from the surrounding area who had similar stats to mine were waitlisted last year. So I’m pretty nervous and I can’t wait for March to hear back!
@Momo322 Well I don’t know if you’re a girl or guy but I know for sure girls have a much higher chance of getting admitted into your major because female computer science applicants are in demand. My sister’s a computer science major at Davis. Your test score is pretty good and HONESTLY this whole admission thing is based on pure luck. I mean the system really has no pattern; people get into Stanford but get rejected from a UC. Best of luck to you too!
I applied for Mathematics-Computer Science with a 4.0 UC GPA and a 33 ACT. What do you guys think my chances are?
@QuiteAverage90 Well considering that UCSD has a holistic approach to apps, maybe post some more information other than GPA / test scores.

UCSD is my number one choice, I’m going for Computer Engineering but I’m definitely nervous…(Computer Science is my alternate)
My D applied. She is out of state. Her stats are 3.8 GPA and 31 ACT. She is from a very competitive high school but my understanding is that the UC school system doesn’t take that into account and also will not weigh her honor classes because they are not part of the UC approved classes. Does anyone know if she will have a chance at UCSD? We visited over the summer and she fell in love with it.
