Thanks! I am too, as well as for all in this forum
@TwinMama1998
I hope you guys get accepted! It must be very stressful! But hang in there!
@jackisawesome - I am also pulling for you Jack. If enough people send you positive energy, UCSD has got to feel it. ^:)^
I am disgusted by, and completely disagree with, the practices UCSD admissions employed this year. UCSD has given unfair advantage to those already accepted over those who are still waiting for decision. This is unforgivable in my opinion. They should have waited and released it all at the same time for everyone that isnāt regents, honors, etc. This is my opinion. Of course, you are entitled to your own opinion. But considering the unfair advantage given with the acceptance last Friday which enables future students to make earlier flight and hotel reservations at cheaper prices than it would be for those who will be notified March 30th (who want to attend the April 9th event with their family) is just one example of the unfair advantage UCSD has extended to the randomly āchosenā applicants.
Oh please. Many schools use rolling admissions. Get over it. āDisgusting behaviorā and āunforgivableā is just an over-exaggeration to say the least.
I made a cupcake and I shall enjoy them now.
Remove stress by eating is real yo ~O) :@)
Everyone finish your homework first!! Decision wonāt come out tonight probably. Just do your homework, go exercise, and take your mind off of College related things for now!! Wishing you the best. \m/
What major did you apply for the 2016 fall school year, what were your stats, and were you accepted?
@anxiousenior1 You are obviously in the group that is enjoying the unfair advantage. Youād be singing a different tune had you been waiting until March 30th for your verdict. I am just curious if you feel entitled to your fortunate outcome while tens of thousands are in limbo waiting to hear. Reputable schools release regular decision all at once, IVY comes to mind. It is no wonder that UCSD keeps falling down the rankings. Itās exactly this kind of inhumane decision making and behavior on their part that starts with admissions and continues in the classroom that will ensure UCSD will continue to tank in the rankings. RIP UCSD.
@Justshootme
Inhumane? Waiting sucks but I would hardly call it inhumane. I doubt this strategy will be very effective for them, but thatās quite the over exaggeration.

@Justshootme Here is a whole bunch of schools that practice rolling admissions. UCSD is not giving applicants an āunfair advantageā. If you believe that, you believe the whole system of rolling admissions is āunforgivableā and ādisgustingā and āinhumaneā. Wake up. Thousands of other applicants go through this at other colleges every year. I think youāre the one who feels entitled to a decision whenever you want it.
With regards to ranking, UCSD was ranked the 14th best university in the world for the third consecutive year, according to the 2015 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU). I hardly feel that UCSD ākeeps falling down the rankingsā. If you have such a problem, just donāt go. Give the spot you may or may not get to someone who actually wants to come
I consider this to be an unnecessary torture which is inhumane in my book. How about some transparency by UCSD? Why donāt they tell us how many were already accepted? Why all the secrecy? Torture!!!
@Justshootme Iām one of the March 30ed people and yes it does suck that we still donāt have a final decision but itās not like UCSD promised us anything except that they would release decisions by March 30th.
UCSD received more applicants and Berkeley this year, and Iām sure the admissions officers are working hard to make sure that they find people who are fit for the school.
@Justshootme
If UCSD admissions is the most torturous experience you have ever been through, youāre doing pretty well. Very few schools are super transparent about admissions
@anxiousenior1 You obviously donāt understand the difference between rolling admission and rolling decision. Thanks for the link, but it isnāt helpful.
@Justshootme I actually do. My point is that some applicants get decisions earlier than others. However, I donāt see people up in arms, ranting about airline fees and such. I donāt see people calling it āinhumaneā or āunforgivableā that they donāt receive a decision at the same time as everyone else. My point still stands.
I do hope you all get good news soon. From what I have read, UCSD had the second highest number of applications this year (behind only UCLA). Over 100,000 applicants for freshman and transfer students. They had more applications than Cal! Many colleges roll out their admission decisions. Try to have patience and donāt lose hope. It all works out in the end.
UCSDApocalypse2k16
Lol @Katecat27 no, it isnāt the most torturous experience just an unnecessary one. They could have notified all regular decision at the same time, but they chose not to do so. Yet, they also chose to not give any practical information with regards to total admitted and total spots left.
