@knguyen1297 Only from a few! But still nice haha: Ohio State, Minnesota, and I guess UCSB (got chancellors reception invite in-state and those invited to the one that I could have gone to all got in).
I can access the housing and see find my roommate, but I never got a call and I am URM and first gen?
@sarale I am logging in from mobile but you should be able to access the page by going to the menu and pressing Off Campus Housing —> UCSD Students.
I don’t think the housing thing means anything! I received a call about my acceptance/Regents status, but my online portal has nothing about “looking for a roommate” or the other stuff you guys have mentioned.
I play around with the Housing option. Apparently I can post a listing myself (with prefilled name and .edu email) looking for roommate as well. Is this a good sign? Anyone has that option?
EDIT: I found out my ucsd.edu email by “list myself as looking for roomate”
@mdlego @bruin2020 Nope I am in state. I think it must be a good sign (either that or a big mistake on UCSD’s part) because all applicants shouldn’t have access to the profiles and all of the contact info on the off campus housing page.
@Andrew545 It finally worked! It took a few tries but hopefully this is a good sign?
@happywaterbottle As I mentioned above:
In your portal, did you go to the housing tab, which is next to admissions, academics, finances, and resources, then click Off-Campus Housing?
After you click off campus housing, you click UCSD Students, then you should be able to log in with the same way you accessed your portal. You will be able to see “UCSD Off-Campus Housing Directory” with all different options.
@Andrew545 yep, definitely a BIG mistake on UCSD if we are able to access these information if we are not yet admitted.
Is anyone not able to access this page?
Kind of creepy, but I just found a friend that goes to UCSD via the “looking for housing” page. If this isn’t indicative of an acceptance, this is freaky.
@knguyen1297 I also have a remade ucsd.edu email to “list myself as an available roommate”!
It works for me too
Okay bear in mind this means absolutely nothing until we find someone who is unable to access the page. At this point it just looks like a mistake on UCSD’s part.
Just ask a friend who currently goes to UCSD. You’re not supposed to have the ucsd.edu email unless you got admitted
EDIT: Hopefully it’s not UCSD faulty set up and it is a good sign
Ok, we can conclude that everyone has access to the UCSD Off-Campus housing directory. On an unrelated note, anyone thinking that since the first UCSD reception is in Los Angeles on Saturday that they will release decisions on Friday?
This is a HUGE mistake on UCSD’s part lol…
“The UC San Diego Off-Campus Housing Directory is your source for rental and roommate listings posted by landlords and roommates exclusively for the UCSD community. All users are required to practice the UC San Diego Principles of Community when using the Directory.”
Either a problem or a definite indication of acceptance, as “exclusively for the UCSD community” has massive implications.
@IBGuy101 Yep I feel certain that they will release on the 11th- LOL if they don’t I’ll be a mess for the entirety of the weekend.
@jackisawesome it’s already kinda a mess lol…
@jackisawesome That looks promising.
