UCSD Class of 2020 Discussion

I just got a no caller id call about 15 minutes ago. Around 1:15 pm I don’t live in SD area but am LA resident. Was it possible it could’ve been a UCSD acceptance. Do they call during this time. I was in class so I couldn’t answer it. And also do they call back? And I don’t think I’m top 30% of acceptances

Do you guys know if SD calls in order according to Stats, area, or schools? My school has only one kid who got called last week (he doesn’t even need it because he got a full ride to Stanford)

Thank you so much!!

@MohammadG no, I don’t think they’d call right now, sorry. They call after-school hours because they know that students are in school!

@knguyen1297 I don’t think there’s a particular order for calling. I’m guessing the lists are arranged alphabetically but different people get different students to call so it’s really a random order.

I live in LA, and I just saw that there was a phone call from 0000000000 on March 3rd at 6 PM. Could that be the call from UCSD???

I also got a call around 4p.m from an Unkown caller I.D on March 1st but I didn’t answer. I doubt it was UCSD though since my stats are way too low

This is killing me. I’ve recieved nothing! I didn’t even get invited to the UCR reception and I got regents there? What? I just want a decision even if it is a rejection.

I doubt I will get into SD though. Oh well :-??

Aside from that, it’s so hard to see your UCSD email and know that you may never get it :((

God I’m such a dork

As far as the coding thing goes, I’m getting
/*************************************************************************************

  • The css classes which starts with “letter” are used in the welcome screen
  • which contains the letter to the applicant who has been accepted
    *************************************************************************************/
    .letter_body

    }

I have no idea what this means at all since I don’t code lol. When I search waitlist, nothing comes up. When I search reject, tons of links show up. I should add that I have not received any news from ucsd yet regarding my admittance :frowning:

@sarale that’s what I got. Hopefully it means something good!

@sodapop027 yay! i’m just nervous because when i searched up reject/rejected, I get like 6 links @-)

Do you guys think that UCSD and UCI can look past SAT scores if there’s something about the student (from their essays and other info from the application) that just stood out or showed potential? Because I have a reaaaaally low SAT score but that DOES NOT mean I’m a terrible student. I count for the top 9% ELC system and I’ve worked so hard the past four years taking the most rigorous courses my school offers and I’ve passed all my AP exams so far. I have an interesting background and essays I revised eight times with the help from a UCSD alumni. When it came down to the SAT both times I took it though, I stressed out and didn’t answer a lot of questions with the fear I’d get them wrong :frowning: It’s silly, I know, but I particularly couldn’t perform well on both the SAT and ACT. But I’m a lot more than my SAT score!

Ok, so, I got a call from a random number 10 minutes ago and I was like, “Why not… It could be from UCSD even though they don’t call at this time.” So I picked up and it was a student from SDSU telling me about their annual Harambee event for African-American admits. I skipped 2 beats when she asked me if I was there (since it was my phonecall).

Portal is down for me. “HTTP Status 401 - MyApplication is currently unavailable to allow for system maintenance. Please check back later in the day.” Anyone else?

I would hope this is for admissions – but it is probably just the housing thing. :stuck_out_tongue:

Same here.

@westcoast98 I know that UCI barely considers SAT score so as long as you have a solid (4.0+) UC GPA and applied to a non impacted major you should be fine there. UCSD however cares a bit more about the SAT but they do claim to have a ‘Holistic’ admission process which could work to your advantage if you were able to compensate for it in other areas such as stellar extracurriculars/great essays/unique circumstances.

Guys seriously I doubt the code contains anything indicative of your acceptance/rejection at this point.

If anyone wants to PM me their code, though, I’d be happy to have something to do. It probably doesn’t have anything to do with anything, but I’d rather be able to confirm to stop stressing.

K, so I did get accepted and this was the code that showed up
/*************************************************************************************

  • The css classes which starts with “letter” are used in the welcome screen
  • which contains the letter to the applicant who has been accepted

If that’s helpful to anyone

@t19305 What page are you on? I’m getting nothing with waitlist/reject/etc…

@ruetherford @bradfordlad My Application is still up for me… and it can’t be housing, as I can still access housing.
