Talked to a relative who knows someone at the admissions office about the supplemental questionnaire. I was told that it is good that the school is showing interest. They are definitely impressed with something that is in your application, and they just want to see how determined you are.
@drummerboy2014 this gave me hope! thank you!
What is questonairre? It come to you over email?
@Coloradogymnast4422 yes, I think so.
Although people with really good stats have posted that they didn’t get anything, so I’m not entirely sure what not getting one means either? My stats are certainly in what I assume would be “borderline” range for UCSD so this is rather nerve-wracking
@gonewiththeair do you mind sharing your stats?
Mine are as follows 3.8 UW/4.33W, 33 ACT, decent extracurriculars with lots of leadership and decent essays (8.5/10 for both). I did not get any supplemental questionnaire, do you think this is a negative sign because I feel like I’m borderline for UCSD. Thanks!
I was really hoping to get the questionnaire!
I have a 4.0 unweighted, 4.7 weighted GPA, 35 ACT, lots of ec’s and community service, started my own business, have an internship right now
@Coloradogymnast4422, I think you didn’t get the supplement because they already accepted you!
lowkey you guys are kind of annoying hahahahah u didnt get the supp b/c ur stats are good enough to get in without them
@Coloradogymnast4422 I agree with @bruin2020
My UC GPA is 4.12, 31 ACT, decent extracurriculars/volunteer work. I’ve also had an internship since the summer, and I have some work experience.
I don’t really have any hooks that are useful at UCSD- I’m just a white upper middle class female. My essays were probably a solid 8. I’m very much a borderline applicant so I’m really worried about what not receiving the survey thing could mean for me.
And @bruin2020 I would say it depends on your UC GPA (but since your UW/W are both pretty high, it’s safe to assume that your UC GPA is as well) but I think you have a really good chance of getting in. I’m guessing you didn’t get a supplement because you also got accepted lol
@gonewiththeair, with those stats, I’m sure you’ll be fine!
@scoobysnacks56, sorry for being annoying lol! I’m just really really nervous for March.
Good luck to us all!
You guys are all gonna be fine - don’t worry
@bruin2020 I really hope so! UCSD is either my top or second choice school at this point (it changes every 5 minutes lol) so the wait is awful.
But yeah. There’s really nothing any of us who didn’t receive the supplement can do now besides wait. It won’t be that long now- only a month and a half(ish)!
Thank you guys! Your stats are all really amazing!!
@gonewiththeair those are my UC unweighted and weighted GPA’s, do you think I’m still ok for UCSD considering that I applied for a competitive major (neuroscience)? Thanks!
For those that received the VIP Tour thing can you post your stats?
@bruin2020 there is only 1 UC GPA- it’s weighted but I think the highest you can have is a 4.2. Otherwise you definitely have a good chance. I’m not sure whether or not neuroscience is impacted (UCSD doesn’t admit by major and for impacted majors they will admit you to UCSD as either your second choice major or undeclared if you don’t get into your first choice) so I don’t know your chances of being accepted as a neuroscience major but I think you stand a good chance of being accepted at UCSD.
Also I agree with @Andrew545. Please share your stats if you received a VIP Tour invitation (or the questionnaire)!
if it says by February 3rd on the supplemental does that mean its due today?
@scoobysnacks56 no, that means it’s due February 3 xx
I’m so scared to find out if I got in or not!! I spent almost 2 hours tonight going through UCSD’s website and the website for each residential college and I honestly can’t imagine myself going anywhere else!!
Also, my first and second choice majors are chemical engineering and electrical engineering, which are both impacted, making admission into those majors even harder…
