So it looks like they’re doing biology majors first?? Ahhh, I’m so anxious to know.
If you don’t get the call does that mean you didn’t get in?
@kmde307 No, they accept through portal too. So if you don’t get a call with the next few days, don’t worry!! You may just be accepted through the portal like a majority of students did last year I believe
@kmde307 They only call 30% of the admits, and the call will last for 1-2 weeks, so don’t worry
However, whenever the decision date is, not getting an update on the portal on that day (mar.10?) means you are probably rejected based on last year’s experience.
Were you told what specific college, of the six, you got into when you were called??? So much anticipation XD
My son received a call yesterday 3/7/17 around 6pm saying he was accepted at UCSD.
88% of people who had a UC capped gpa of 4.2 or above were admitted in 2015, so you’re probably fine.

On the right, click “freshmen admit rate”, “San Diego” for campus,
Out of state, TX. They said that they would send the emails soon. Apparently, they are trying to update the portal sooner than later.
I hope the decisions come out this friday!!!
Do US Citizens living outside the US get calls?
My DS didn’t get any call. He is very high stats and good ECs and already admitted to UCB with regents interview and UCSB regents award. I doubt that they are done with calling campaign.
My Friend got in
Biology Major
GPA- 3.93
SAT- 1120
@superman147 Did he find out right now? And in-state or OOS?
Wonder how they are making these calls. I doubt it’s just based on stats because many of the people who’ve gotten calls don’t have extremely high stats.
UPDATE – sounds like the calls started today (3/7/2017). My guess is the freshman decisions will come out this Friday (3/10/2017).
The Early Calling Campaign has become a tradition at UCSD (I believe this will be the ninth year) and targets Regents Scholars, Chancellor’s Associates Scholars, historically underrepresented students, and top admits based on their academic profile.
You may get the call in the evening from a current UCSD staff or faculty member (858 area code). There is no need to be alarmed if you miss the call (someone will call back; missing the calls will not affect your admission offer). If you do not receive a call during the Early Calling Campaign, you may receive a call later, after admission decisions are released, from current UCSD students to invite you to Triton Day and campus overnight programs, or later still from UCSD alumni to share their Triton experiences.
I cant waittt for Friday!! I am just too excited
I don’t think I have ever been this nervous in my life… #-o
Ahh I’m so nervous too! ~4.1 capped GPA/4.6 uncapped/35 ACT/17 APs…really praying that I get in :)) :((
@longwait2 I’m psychology major also!! I haven’t received a call. Good luck to both of us
How hard is it to get into UCSD CS?
