UCSD Class of 2021 Discussion/Decisions

@alow33 Would you mind sharing your stats, intended major, and whether you in state or out?

Are any people in San Diego County getting letters, or are they going to people outside San Diego?

@wormholes I’m a freshman applicant who didn’t get the letter, though maybe they sent it to people who haven’t visited before? I’ve already visited UCSD campus.
And I don’t think it’s anything to feel bad about–statistically, way more people are going to not receive letters. :slight_smile:

@youcee good point!

@mintchipmagic yeah that’s possible; i also live in the SD area/have visited UCSD a lot so hopefully that’s why! thanks for making me feel better :slight_smile:

My son hasn’t received UCSD email other than portal emails. No invite to visit or questions. He is in-state but not in San Diego, and has never visited the campus.

ACT: 35
SAT II: 800 in Math II and Physics
GPA: 3.95 UW, about 4.20 UC capped, 4.8 uncapped
Course rigor: high
Major: physics

I’m instate and I also did not get any…other correspondence from the school. kind of bummed now
ACT 35
SAT2: 800 in math2
GPA: 3.97 unweighted, 4.29 capped, 4.54 uncapped

@sadsenior as people have said, i don’t think not getting the invite is anything to worry about! with your stats, i wouldn’t be worrying at all :slight_smile:

Last week my son received a very generic brochure and letter from UCSD. It thanked him for applying, and invited him to schedule a tour. But not an “all access” tour. I am not sure why they would send that.

I got a request for additional information :confused:
The weird thing is, I also got the invitation to visit the campus too.

I’m feeling really nervous. No supplemental questionnaire, no “all-access VIP tour,” no postcard saying “thanks for applying + come in for a tour,” nothing. I’m out of state, if that means anything.

@poliscihopeful7 im international. And in the ssme position like u

I would be surprised if they offered any kind of offering to OOS/International students.

@NO102938 that’s bleak. From previous year threads those who received nothing not even the thank you for applying postcard were usually rejected.
But don’t feel bad one of these students received nothing from ucsd got denied but got into ucla

@UCLAstan really? i mean i live in San Diego…do you think me not receiving anything is a bad sign? do you think they haven’t sent me anything because I’m local?

@wormholes its all in the previous threads dude. people who didn’t get the postcard didn’t get any of the emails and weren’t accepted. doesn’t matter if you’re local. local kids were receiving it too last year.

@UCLAstan what emails?

@wormholes the ones that come next throughout this month. invitations to apply to iced specific scholarships etc.

@UCLAstan so you’re saying i’m not going to get in, then?

@wormholes im not saying anything all I’m saying is that people last year who got no correspondence from the school at this stage ended up not getting in. you can check for yourself if you’d like.

@UCLAstan Okay. Did OOS students also get these correspondences or were post cards only sent to the in-state students?
