UCSD Class of 2021 Discussion/Decisions

On Ms. Sun’s website it says UCSD might come out on 3/11? Would they do that?

@wormholes sorry, the deadline to apply for the overnight program

@wormholes here under “UCSD Early Calling Campaign” she says 3/10. https://■■■■■■■■■■■■/home/

@wormholes yea according to them we are supposed to receive an email with the app for the overnight stay. And I’m hoping they include info on what college I got into in that email because the alumni who called me didn’t tell me

@lkg4answers Thank you! I saw March 11th here: https://■■■■■■■■■■■■/home/uc-freshman-application-timeline/#decisions

@wormholes Just went to Ask Ms. Sun, and it said her guess was it would be 3/10. Maybe you looked at her 2016 site.

Edit: LOL We all answered at once!

@kaiberrypie Ohh I see! Would you mind sharing your stats?

UC GPA 3.86 // Weighted 4.38

good luck to everyone!

@wormholes I have a 4.18 GPA, 1110 on SAT, 27 on ACT, and had a lot of outside stuff like international student ambassador and community service trips. I chose Linguistics as my major

@kaiberrypie Ok, thank you!

@wormholes no problem! I’ve asked other people I know who got called and they say they haven’t received any emails yet, but one person did say it should be next week. I guess we’ll see haha

I got a missed called from a number with the 858 area code. I live in norcal; how likely do you guys think that this call was part of the campaign?

@Chrisfults123 I think you were still likely accepted because of the reception invite. :slight_smile: It wouldn’t make sense for them to invite you to a reception if you were waitlisted. Not everyone received the invite and if you didn’t get off of the waitlist they would have one invite that was for nothing… It would make more sense to invite those that would be the most likely to go, i.e. admits.

It’s important to remember that 70% of admits do not get a call, so it is safe to say that not getting a phone call at this point in time does not indicate waitlist/rejection at all.

@yuccatree I got a similar email but for the Bay Area reception… Does this mean I’m more likely to be accepted as well?

Did anyone get an invite to the VIP tour and not go but get a phone call that they were accepted?

@Bay2826 Yes, it is incredibly likely! :slight_smile:

I really hope decisions come out tomorrow!! But, isn’t it a bit early for it to be tomorrow? Don’t other UC’s usually come first?

@kabobgirl As far as I’m aware, I know that UC Merced and UC Riverside have already started sending out decisions. It is also be rumored that UC Davis will be releasing decisions on Monday

@Bay2826 Actually, UC Davis is rumored to be releasing tomorrow as well! :slight_smile: UCSD and UCD have historically released on the same day/one day apart.

@Bay2826 Thank you! I’m hoping it’s tomorrow
