@Waverider3377 They may be updating the decisions on the portals in batches, so maybe that’s why your portal is down at the moment. Don’t worry.

@poliscihopeful7 It seems to imply that student emails aren’t actually generated until after the end of the admissions period.
One more thing. On the email page to retrieve your account it says: “Please enter your UCSD student id number (your PID, eg. a01234567, not your applicant ID) and your last name.” I know we all have PIDs, but shouldn’t they be temporary? I could be wrong, I have a hard time believing they would assign us actual PIDs unless we actually enroll. Something to consider as well. Overall, this speculation has just made us descend into lunacy and isn’t going to change what happens today at 3 p.m. (assuming decisions are released today). Good luck to all. Try to breathe.
Here’s a trick to find out if you’re going to get in GUARANTEED. Pin any document to a dartboard. Throw a dart at it. If it hits a “U” you’re getting in. Any other letter, and, sorry to say, but you’re rejected. Works 60 percent of the time 100 percent of the time.
Hey guys! I’m a transfer applicant but know quite a lot of information about this whole admission process, just thought I’d offer some words of advice. UCSD is expected to release for MOST freshman today around 3 PM. Also, in the past, viewing an email address was common and has nothing to do with your admission status. Good luck today kiddos, and try to calm down and breathe as best you can until 3!

@Nataliee177 How do you know that decisions for most applicants will be out at 3 today?
@voltthorn Based off of last year’s Freshman notification date (April 11). For some reason most UC’s prefer to notify on Fridays, which is why today would be the day if they are sticking to the pattern (most UC blogs have confirmed this date).

This was posted on the UCD page:
“Hey y’all! I just called the UC Davis admissions office and, like for the last two years, they have an automated recording saying decisions will be released beginning at 5:00 pm today. The past two years they have come out earlier than that, so keep checking regularly!!”
So if UCD and UCSD release on the same day, it is looking good.
