@youcee Thank you. I appreciate the sympathy very much. We are in mourning. Just found a website updated today that said that getting into the major after enrolling no longer would be based on having the best GPA in the required courses. It said that students who had a 3.3 or above GPA in the required CSE courses would be entered into a LOTTERY and would only be allowed two attempts.
My son got waitlisted, not too bad though.

@helloucla844: It means that you did not get into your 1st choice or alternate major (if you listed an alternate major), so you would need to change majors once you enroll. If you applied to a capped major, switching majors is very difficult and not guaranteed so you need to review the change of major policy for any majors of interest so see if it is worth attending.
