@8o6peary So sorry that the same thing happened with your D! Even though I read the info about the lottery on the UCSD website I am still planning to verify that it is correct because it seems like such a strange thing to do. Pretty sure S will not be going to UCSD, even though it was his #1 choice. Computer science is his life, and he would be wasting his time there without that major. I’m not sure if people who are not officially in the major can always get the classes they need in order to apply for it. Just glad now for his other choices.
He doesn’t plan to appeal because you have to have new information in order to do that.
