It will be interesting to follow how the new comp sci lottery will have a ripple affect on CS programs at other schools.
@tksubs
Where else were you accepted/rejected?
@Momofsenior2017 I could be wrong but, the invite to the Overnight was given to those who were called, or people who had hooks. For example, URM/first gen student/ etc. I got one and my stats are below average than many here, however I am low income and first gen student. It makes sense because they pay for transportation, which would logically prioritize low income.
Sorry, I know this is a UCSD thread, but does anyone know when Mudd is releasing its decisions?
@HB1999 - My D is a math major.
Hey Y’all, applied and got into my first choice college of Muir. I applied for engineering and got in for my alternate major, poli sci/public policy. Does anyone know how hard it would be for me to transfer into Applied Mathematics/Statistics/Probability and Statistics? Since I applied I’ve been all over the place with intended majors but a month or two ago I finally set my mind on stats. Is this likely to be a capped major?
Another side note, I’ve read that the UC’s now dont offer financial aid for OOS students. As a student with a EFC of 10,700, does this actually mean I would have to pay the full 50k to go to UCSD?
What did it say on your portal? If you hit “Next” after it shows you your decision, it should lead you to look at your financial aid.
I’m accepted to Applied Math, but my intended major is EE, CS, and Comp Engr. I heard it is really hard to transfer I to ECE. Any suggestions? By the way, do we have a Facebook group or something?
@noochilised: Check your FA award but most likely you would only get Federal aid such as Pell grants and the subsidized loans if eligible. Unless noted in your FA award, expect to pay close to full fees.

@MRzNOne:
Info on trying to switch majors. Very difficult with no guarantee.

Middle class. No hooks.
@lemondrop2 I have almost exactly same stats, (1530, 34, top percent of class, 770 and 800 subject tests) and I was accepted as undeclared (because I didn’t get my major of bioengineering). Yeah Ucsd is not to be underestimated, it’ll be interesting what the accepted statistics are.
You too, @gratefulmama, where else has your D applied?
