I called admission office this morning and was told there is no opening at this time, it may be opening in the future if someone withdraws SIR.

If this is true, sure would be nice if they updated portals to reflect this!
I wish they would just send out the rejections already instead of keeping us hopeful. I just want to cry at this point. :(( :((
if there ain’t any spots open, even if someone withdraws SIR later, there are still 4000 students on waitlist, there is no any hope for waiting.
I really hope that UCSD didn’t fill all the waitlist spots with only international and OOS students. I mean, I understand their plan to make more money etc but still, it kind of feels like a backhand to those of us in state all well
Too late dude it seems like they already filled out all their spots with out of state students. This is bullshit.
Ucb, ucsb and ucd are still admitting from waitlist may be someone will leave spot in ucsd
Why would ucsb and ucd admitted from waitlist will leave spot in ucsd? I consider ucsd is better those two. Only UCB and UCLA waitlisters would do that.
@restAllgreen they’re not considered better for everyone. everyone’s looking for something different in a college
@restAllgreen This year, UCI and UCSB are ranked higher than UCSD and UCD is tied with UCSD (US News). UCSD does have a longer reputation but UCSB, UCI, UCD have climbed the ranks. It is also really up to what major you are going into and the preference of campus environment.
That’s interesting… what confuses me is why I got waitlisted to SD, SB, D, I, and SC (even though they later admitted me) getting waitlisted across the board sucked and didn’t make any sense. I have SIR to UCR and I’m in pain R was my 7th choice
