I know that this is one of most FAQ on UCSD but the ones that I have checked are all 8 years old. Since there have been a lot of changes in the GE requirements of all the colleges of UCSD can someone actually tell me how good or bad Revelle is for a biology major? Also can someone provide insight on the kind of life and the dorm rooms at Revelle ?

IMO Revelle is a good college for a bio major. I am a Revelle student and a Molecular Bio major. If you come in with a decent amount of AP credit, then the only GE’s that you will have to take outside your major are HUM 1-5 and DEI (this requirement is for every UCSD student and can not be waived by AP credit). Two of the AP tests I took ended up waiving 6 GE classes. Revelle is very generous with AP Credit!
I don’t live on campus. So, I don’t know much about the dorms other than what you can probably find by a 30 sec google search.
Hello anyone want to share insight on how to change to a different college?
@km2017: Possible but not probable.
Q: Can I switch to a different college?
A: Yes, after you complete the writing program and if you can demonstrate that switching to a different college will allow you to graduate with fewer academic quarters.
Revelle is easily one of the more social colleges, and all of the dorms and buildings have been remodeled in the past five years or so. They’re average sized for campus, meaning they’re comfortable enough. The architecture and landscaping is extremely pretty and contributes to a lot of socialization. Revelle’s GEs aren’t so bad for most science majors, as you’d likely anyway have to take calculus, physics, chemistry, and biology. The HUM sequence is extremely difficult, but the changes to the GE requirements over the past three years have made them reasonably manageable.
