I got into UCSD for the fall and am thinking about going but am looking to switch out of Roosevelt college and get into another college because I used the IGETC transfer and roosevelt does not accept all of the coursework from IGETC if ANYONE is looking to switch out of their college and into Roosevelt PLEASE let me know we are allowed to make one on one switches but the chances of getting to switch otherwise are pretty slim!!!

really? that's so odd....I remember hearing you can't change. You should try and get into Thurgood Marshall, IGETC waives all of their GE.

the only schools that do not accept igetc is roosevelt and revelle... just my luck right??
i take it your going to ucsd in the fall??

I sure am.

Marshall makes you take 2 GE's bucko.

well thats better then the 8 that roosevelt will make me take

What're you talking about

I'm pretty sure IGETC covers all of the GEs that they require you to take.

Anyone From Marshall Or Warren Want To Switch Into Sixth???

no...Marshall requires to more GEs in addition to the IGETC...I already decided what I'm taking...it has to be two classes outside of your major (for example if you're a Psychology major, you have to take 2 classes outside of the social sciences. If you're a Bio major, you have to take 2 classes outside of Biological Sciences I believe)

Oh right right, that one. I totally forgot about that one. Shoot I don't know what to take for those two courses. All the interesting classes are in Social Sciences. I might take 2 Foreign Language classes....but it'll be hard. Ugh.

well one has to be a writing class, so you really only need one more class I think...I'm taking American Sign Language and EDS 130 which is a tutoring/mentoring program for elementary or middle schools in the area...I'm excited for it

Really? One has to be a Writing Class? So of the two Upper div classes that are not related to our major, one has to be a Upperdiv Writing Class? Why are you taking Sign language and tutoring then?

Q: I would like to switch to another UCSD undergraduate college. Can I
request a switch from the one I was admitted to?
A: No. Each college has a certain number of spaces for transfer students to meet
its enrollment goals. The only way for you to switch to another college is if a
transfer student from that college wants to change to the one you were admitted
to. Therefore, very few college changes granted each year. We highly encourage
you to remain in your current college because experience has shown that you will
find it a very rewarding experience.

If you indeed wish to change colleges, please get an Intercollege Transfer Request
form at the Academic Advising Office of the college to which you were admitted.
Your college will then follow up with you as to the results of your request.

my friend already goes to UCSD and she has made the switch she says they really dont want you to switch so they make it sound a lot harder then it really is but if you have a legit reason to switch and you work with a counselor you can do it or if you can find someone to swap places with you

ANYONE WANT TO SWITCH INTO ROOSEVELT???

I want to take both of the classes, so I am...I've always wanted to learn sign language but none of my schools offered it

Should have signed up for muir.

MUIR!!!!!

I did sign up for muir but i got accepted to roosevelt

So even though I'm entering as a freshman next fall and they specifically stated that you cannot transfer colleges if you get an ICT request you can? I also read that you can switch if you can prove you can graduate in fewer quarters of only GE requirements and if you complete the writing program. Is it possible to switch before completing the writing program or will I just have to ask them when I get there? I am in ERC currently and want to switch to Warren. I'm also a bioengineering: biotechnology major. I know for a fact that I can graduate in fewer quarters of GEs. Can we switch colleges before we attend any classes? I know this sounds really stupid but I'm pretty desperate. I don't mind that I'll have to walk further to all my classes from ERC, but I really don't want to take MMW. It's like IB History for 6 quarters all over again! Also if I switch colleges will I be able to move dorms? Oh and I already meet many of the requirements for ERC requirements but the real killers are MMW, Regional Spec., and fine arts. Do I have to take any ERC GEs the first few quarters or can I choose to take them later? Thank you in advance! Please answer! =)
