Hey guys,

I'm currently a second year at UCSD and a communications major. I recently applied and was accepted into UCI as a literary journalism major. I'm having the hardest time deciding. I mean, I'm enjoying the communications courses at SD but it's all theory and doesn't feel practical at all. And the social life at UCSD is pretty boring. I currently dance for a hip hop team at UCI so I drive up there 3x a week and I can def say the social life up there is better than SD. But social life aside, does anybody know how good the Literary Journalism program is at UCI compared to the Comm program at SD? I know they're two different subjects, but I generally want to work in the entertainment/broadcasting industry (not exactly sure what specific career path). Comm is more vague so I feel that it might be safer, where as with Lit journalism, I pretty much have to do journalism. Also, UCSD is generally a more prestigious university compared to UCI, but I know this might not help at all in today's job market. UCI being in orange county, is geographically better because there are more studio internship opportunities, but the city of San Diego is a major business hub and could be beneficial too. What do you guys think?
