i wish i get in UCSD my 1st choice!!!
3.83 1250 680 580 530

goooseefaabaaaa... Those who watched bad boys 2 should know what I'm talkin' about. Those who haven't yet (because you really should and will smith's just freakin' hilarious), it's a mantra to calm the person down and to reduce anxiety levels.

Well, it's supposed to, but it's not working.

See, I posted something that my friend said in a different thread. She's our class valedictorian, never got a B in her entire high school career except for AP Calc last semester, enviable extracurriculars, close to a 5.0 weighted gpa and she got rejected flat out from Dartmouth. These are her words of wisdom.

"Just because you weren't accepted doesn't mean you're not good enough. You've done everything you could, got the highest grades possible in your classes, passed your aps, and you turned in your applications. You've done your part and it's really not up to you anymore. You did your best."

Eh, they're not her exact words, but I got the gist of what she's saying. It's not comforting for some people who are dead serious about a particular school and I'm so sorry if it's not. I can see some people are about dead serious about ucsd and I can relate. But I still fervently believe that those who were able to get into the UC system >at all< should count their blessings. Transferring to another uc campus is an option. I see the wisdom in her words and though it will break my heart if I get rejected from UCSD, it will not cripple me because I still have other UCs I got admitted to.

Still... who else is down with the all-nighter besides treegap!??!?! If they post results at 12:01 or 12 sharp am, please people, log on, make a new thread and end our miseries! Help us move on with our lives and graduate with a stable mental health. Hahaha!

Whew. Long post. Has anyone else forgotten about graduation in this panic about UCs?

Now that UCLA rejected me, I doubt I have any chance at Berkeley. Therefore, UCSD is my slightly realistic first choice, even though I still consider it a reach.

3.82 UC GPA, 1440, 740, 740, 700

If they give me points for my family income being 41,000 dollars last year and for being President of Academic Decathlon and VP of Marketing for Computer Club, my total is 7514 points... Only 49 points above last year's cutoff point. Damn you UCSD! Decisions have probably already been made, can't you just post them and take me out of my misery already!!??

does UCSD go strictly by that points system in the comprehensive review? are you automatically in if you are over the cutoff line? I'm over the cutoff for last year, but I know that I didn't write the most stellar essays, so I'm a little worried. I think my essays were why I didn't get into UCLA. I have decent stats--not the best, but do you think they are enough for UCSD?

GPA: 4.21
SAT I: 1330 (660V/670)
ACT: 31
SAT IIs: 700/720/690

Breakaway yeah I thnk UCLA emphasized essays a lot this year hopefully we can all get into UCSD your stats look pretty good what was your major? dont foget this is for Bio-Med eng. which is popular at UCSD and they may have different comp. review sheets. Yeah I hope my essays are good enough too, b/c now I'm not sure how good they were.

sydney UCSD may be random or not. They might do the point system or not but just think of yourself of having the same exact change b/c thats what happened to UCLA.
