UCSD Computer Engineering program not ABET accredited

I was really surprised to find out recently that UCSD's computer engineering program is not ABET accredited. CE is one of the few impacted majors at UCSD.

Current ABET accredited engineering programs at UCSD:

Does anyone know of any potential drawbacks to getting an engineering degree that is not ABET accredited?

Don't worry about ABET. There is no draw back at all for a school like UCSD. Tons of students graduated with a CE degree from UCSD and went to selective graduate schools in the last 25 years.

For a field like CE, there's no reason to be accredited. It's important in fields like civil engineering, where you need a license to work.
