<p>Biological Sciences majors will be impacted starting fall 2009 </p>
<p>For a full and detailed description of the impacted major,
please visit the web page at
[enrollment</a> management](<a href=“http://biology.ucsd.edu/undergrad/enrollmentmanagement.html]enrollment ”>http://biology.ucsd.edu/undergrad/enrollmentmanagement.html )</p>
<p>Impacted Major-what is it?
Student interest in the Biological Sciences has increased very
rapidly in the past five years. Although the division has taken
many steps to accommodate this growth, we have reached the limit
of our current and projected resources (especially as it relates
to lab space). The division therefore sought and received
approval from the Academic Senate to declare impacted status for
all biology majors. The division will limit the number of
freshman, transfer and continuing students that are admitted to
any of the biology majors.<br>
The division is committed to providing the best education
possible to its students. By limiting the number of majors, the
faculty and staff of the Division of Biological Sciences can
ensure that the educational experience of all students is of the
highest quality. </p>
<p>What this means:
All biology majors will be considered impacted beginning fall
2009.</p>
<p>Students admitted to UCSD as freshman
Beginning fall 2009, any student admitted as a freshman, will be
affected by the impacted major status. Students interested in
changing to a biology major must complete an Exceptional
Admission application.<br>
The admission policy for continuing students is:
(a) complete at least one year/three quarters in residence at
UCSD
(b) complete all lower division requirements for the requested
major
(c) students will be ranked based on overall UCSD GPA and
admitted according to rank
(d) students who have completed more than six full quarters at
UCSD will not be considered </p>
<p>If you know you want to major in one of the areas of biology, it
is highly recommended that you change your major before fall
2009. If you wait, you will be required to go through the
Exceptional Admissions process for continuing students.</p>
<p>** Students who entered UCSD as transfer students will be able
to change into any biology major until fall 2011 without
restriction. </p>

<p>Just as an FYI, sometimes when I log in to UCSD it doesn’t give me my letter. If you see anything about “You owe $0.00” or “You’re not registered for any terms,” it means you’re in.</p>
<p>What if you log in and it takes you to the blink site, or shows up without the
–Welcome to the UC San Diego application status Web site. We are currently reviewing applications for transfer admission for the Fall 2009 quarter-- message??</p>
<p>You have to go to myapplication.ucsd.edu … You’re directed to blink bc you bookmarked the log in page. It happened to me too</p>
<p>is this really true?? i mean what missyujin is saying about the owe crap…lol</p>
<p>No, it is not true at all about what missyujin said. That page is on every single applicants MyTriton site as soon as you sign in the first time. Just wait for the actual confirmation. The ‘owe crap’ means nothing.</p>
<p>No i’ve got the right page bookmarked, it doesn’t do it all the time, just occasionally…</p>
