***, I got into Revelle, which was probably my second to last choice.

Is there anything I can do about this? I don’t want to stay longer than I have to!

If you’re a science major you won’t really be losing out on anything, if you’re not then there may be something you can do by showing that you can graduate earlier through switching colleges.

kkiiji: I’m not a science major, and looking back on my application, Revelle was my last choice. :(

I have IGETC completed, I don’t why they would put me in one of the only two colleges that doesn’t fully accept IGETC, my last choice no less!

CBBolts: I found this under Newly Admitted Students -

Q: Can I change the college I picked on the application?
A: Newly admitted freshmen cannot change college choices. After your first year of enrollment, you may request a change of college through your colleges academic advisor if you have completed the writing program and can demonstrate that switching to a different college will allow you to graduate in a shorter time.

Newly admitted transfer students may request a change of college; however, we may not be able to accommodate college changes due to capacity limitations. Submit your request with an explanation for the change to: collegechange@ad.ucsd.edu.

Kiwi-eyes, according to their website the only way you can change colleges is by switching with another transfer student who plans on attending UCSD.

I heard that, too. What page is it on? I will try and contact someone at the school soon in a few days to ask about this.

Just go to your application page. Click on the “Continue to Admission Status” link on the bottom. Then open up the "Frequently Asked Questions"pdf close to the top of the page. The second question is about switching colleges.

What is a Smart Grant??

I got the new message a few days ago and got in Sixth with a 4.0 in Communications. I got approximately $15,850 but no Smart Grant. Actually, I have never heard of it…

I got in Warren with a 3.93 in Communications. I’ve got no SMART grant too…what is that?? Is that only for citizens?

smart grants are only for science majors … look it up on google! :)

SMART grant is for both citizens and permanent residences, for science majors only(math too maybe?).

You have to be eligible for the pell grant to get the smart grant.

darnit, still havent heard anything from them. I’m friggin anxious now that everyone has been saying they got in. I have a 4.0 with most all prereqs done (aside from one that should be done this semester). GRRRR!!! if they wanna reject me, just reject me already!!! This is like slowly tearing off a bandaid to see how bad the damage is…

Hi weegotfish,
Thank~ English is my second language, so I took a lot of ESL classes, and two of them were UC transferable. (yea, that sucks)
Also, my GPA once went very low, so I try to gain as much A as I can by completing the IGETC. Thus, I will have all of my pre req. finished and way more than 90 UC transferable units by the end of this semester.
Good luck with your application! =)

Gosh, you guys, I am getting sick with all this waiting. I wish they would tell me if I am accepted or not!

at darkwind, im not quite sure, but i believe 70 units is the transfer cap, so everything youve done is pretty much overkill

70 units transfer, but all the other units still count as classes that were taken.

So, UC!Hopefully said today was supposed to be the big day, possibly next Saturday… I still have the old housing message (cant access bleh bleh bleh).

Turns out yesterday was the big day.

Why did people think Saturday was the big day in the first place?

i thought someone said that today will be the big day for UCSD.
