UCSD decisions are out Fall 2009

hahahah…floobnoobs, relax

they are not gonna give us a break for either accept or reject until the last second of april.

but seriously, did anyone heard any rejection from UCLA, berkeley or UCSD?

I was hoping there would be another batch today :frowning: This is killing me! I obviously know this isn’t true, but I FEEL like I’m the only person whose being left in the dust!

Those of you with high stats (which is pretty much all of you!) probably shouldn’t be so worried…

I’m trying to make myself feel better by hoping that this forum is not a good sample size of average GPAs. I figure that the only people on this forum are the ones who really really care about their grades and where they get in, therefore they all have higher than average GPAs. As for me, I really do care, but I’m just not that smart! (GPA 3.4) So, hopefully there are a bunch of slackers out there who applied with GPAs lower than mine, therefore, brining the average GPA way lower than I think it is and making me look great!

…or maybe not…:(

Everyone thought today because some dummy made a post that it would be today based on hints that he thought he was getting when he called UCSDs admissions.

Give it a week. More will come out. My bet is next Friday for UCSD, and on Wednesday for UCDs next batches. These guesses based on their patterns of release since this started and are only guesses that I am making more for fun to see if I can get it right.

I’d just like to note that you don’t have to be smart to get a high GPA.

And 3.4 is pretty much the UCSD transfer applicant average.

And that’s not very nice! Calling people dummies that is. :stuck_out_tongue: He was only a day off.

We heard Saturday from someone on CC who apparently talked to a UCSD Rep. I talked to my friends in Admissions and all she told me was that the next batch was going to be released in the first week of April…that’s all. Not sure when the next one will be…

Keep those heads up high! If it makes you feel any better, like I said…I didn’t do two of my pre-reqs for UCSD (Psychology major) and I got in! :D

^are you doing a BS or a BA? I’m going for a BA in psych myself.

What exactly is the difference?

Umm BS is more experimental… where as BA has more Elective requirements. So BA you can kinda go where ever you want with it; its really open. Also BS has an additional foreign language pre-req.

I wonder how UCSD sorts us out into different colleges, doesn’t anyone else ever wonder that? I used to think it was a space issue, or maybe people with the highest GPA’s get their first choices, etc. I’m pretty sure most of us transfers picked Muir or Warren as our top two schools.

OK so I’m a dummy? Dem Bones… turns out they got the decisions out a day early…so my Saturday statement was close but i don’t claim to be a damn psychic you tool. so yes it was Friday not Saturday so if you haven’t heard then there is suppose to be one last batch to be released at the end of the month…

thats what ucsd told me so i guess im a dummy…but thats what my post said…some one told me… goodluck to you all… i think im assed out however since i have four classes in progress required for my major… turns out if you have four our more prerequisites in progress but not offically complete then you are not going to get in.

here is the official word from the 2008 year:

In accordance with UCSD Admissions policy, we reviewed student grades through Fall 2007, and noted your Winter/Spring 2008 WIP during our application/major preparation review process. Generally, students with 4 or more courses either in progress or not completed were not admitted to their major. This number varies slightly from one department to the next so this number should be taken as a guideline only and not an absolute.

im currently taking physics 3(modern physics) differential equations, linear algebra, and c++.
major EE 3.5

I’m planning on getting my BA in Psychology. [:

We’ll probably end up with a buncha classes together then, which prereq’s do you need to finish at the campus? I need to finish stats and a programing class…after that i’m good to go with the upper division classes.

I also read this is in a FAQ for transfer admissions on the Jacob School website. Anyways I had 7 prereqs in progress for winter and spring so I was skeptical that I would be admitted directly into engineering but I was accepted for structural engineering anyways. I had also read though that if you aren’t accepted into the engineering major because you haven’t finished enough prereqs but you are accepted to UCSD to your alternate major or as undeclared there is an expedited appeals process you can go though to get into the engineering major if you can just prove that you did actually finish all the prereqs by the fall quarter we start. This only applies to engineering majors obviously.

3.8GPA electrical engineering, will finish all UGETC courses and major requirement during SPRING 09…APPLIED FOR UCSD ,

but why my application is still in review??? who can help me. this made me so nervous.

me either! pending for computer eng in UCSD. two of my friz got in with Mech engineering last fri~~~ depressing

Here’s an article on UCSD’s applicant pool for freshman & transfers

That’s really interesting! Thanks for that! [: Psychology major here and I’m the first in my family to go to college too. Holla!

I have to finish Physics. Why does UCSD require Calc?! Thankfully…I took AP Calculus D in HS. Yaya. [:

interesting, so they obviously already know who is accepted/rejected and choosing to release them at a slower rate if they have the averages all out already.

^
Yep. LOL. At least, that’s what I think. I’m sure they wouldn’t tell us that…:/

They don’t need more time, it’s not like they read the PS! [:

They just love making the applicants wait.

The data is just for the applicant pool, not specifically admits
