i see i see…

Hi, I was reading in here and saw that you can transfer colleges if you find a transfer student who is willing to switch with you. My top choice was Revelle and I didn’t get in. I got into Eleanor Roosevelt instead. I was wondering if anyone is willing to switch that got into Revelle. Thanks in advance ^ _ ^

Oh, I’m taking chem 2 instead of physics because it’ll be easier to do premed…should I decided to. Oh and the calc classes in cc are a joke compared to high school. In cc just get a TI-89 and your pretty much set!! But seriously ucsd requires so many science classes for psych prereqs!

for transfer students…do you have to have a REALLY competitive GPA? or will a 3.0 do? (assuming you have the requirements done)

say…

you have a 3.0 and all prereqs done

and tons of other people have the pre-reqs done as well but with GPAs of 3.5 and above.

based off of that , and that alone, your chances are pretty much .0000001 %

edit: ahh what the hell i thought this was a UCLA thread.
anyways, a 3.0 is very borderline(maybe below) for most majors at ucsd and other mid tier UCs.

A 3.0 is a little low. It happens, sure, based on major, EC’s, etc., but anyone under a 3.25 or so is at a disadvantage. See UC’s statfinder to get the cold, hard numbers. Google it.

It also base on the impacted major :D

ohh i meant UCSD. sorry
would it matter that i even lived in the UCSD area?
and major would probably be Microbiology

" Oh and the calc classes in cc are a joke compared to high school. In cc just get a TI-89 and your pretty much set!! "

I know people who got 5 on BC exam and got a C in Multi-Variable Calculus…
so, disagree

The TAG guarantee only asks for a 3.0 UC GPA, but you have to take certain courses.

[Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) 2009-2010](http://www.ucsd.edu/prospective-students/admissions/undergraduate-admissions/transfer/tag.html)

From what I understand, the requirements are pretty shaky and will probably change very soon. It recently changed a year ago, because it used to have nothing to do with IGETC.

hey guys after reading the link provided earlier and reading responses from some people i believe there is a misconception about the impacted majors. the previously listed majors are only impacted for the batch of fall 2009(freshman) and therefore the transfers for these majors will be impacted for transfer in fall 2011.

Hi everyone! I just got into Revelle college, although my top three were Muir, Sixth, and Warren. I know it’s a far reach, but if anyone from those colleges is interested in switching with me, please let me know. =] I am a Literature/Writing major so the general ed requirements for Revelle would be extremely difficult for me. I appreciate anyone’s help in advance!

hey bendystraw, did u just find out about UCSD today???

^^^ Nope, found out on April 3rd.

bendy, you should try to meet as much of the Revelle requirements as you can this summer, that’s what I’m aiming to do.

I am going to try to do that as well. Trouble is, I have only taken up to statistics, so I have to take pre calc this summer if I can even HOPE to pass calculus at SD. I think we are allowed to satisfy 2/5 of the Humanities requirements at a CC… and I’ve heard those are really tough (surprisingly) at UCSD, so I’m going to try and knock those out this summer.

Have you been on assist.org and and looked at the articulation for your CC and Revelle breadth GE requirements? On the UCSD website they have two tracks for calculus… one for non-science and another for science majors. I’m taking the non-science and I didn’t need precalc as a prereq, just college algebra - but your CC might be different. Otherwise, if your CC just doesn’t have the equivalent to the non-science calc, maybe you should wait till you get to UCSD?

And I think that humanities thing, like having to take it 3/5 at UCSD only applies to freshman, not transfers.

I am going to have to look into that non-science track, thank you for telling me about that!

And, I just saw that yes, the 3/5 HUM only applies to freshmen, thankfully. =)

does anyone know when ucsd is giving out letters again for cc transfers…I still didn’t get anything, and I have TAG.
