UCSD decisions are out Fall 2009

I’m going for Bio at UCSD, it’s a compacted major for freshman and I’m unsure if it’s compacted for transfers.

But I have a 3.4 transferable GPA. I haven’t heard from UCSD yet and after reading all these 3.8’s - 4.0’s I’m getting a little worried about my own acceptance. Do they accept the higher GPA kids first? Do I even have a shot? I hate waking up in the morning and checking their stupid website, someone shoot me already.

Aquafinna- I applied for bio also with a 3.4. I haven’t heard from ucsd, but I was rejected from Santa barbara. I’m not too excited to find out from sd…

so i called today about not clicking the box for tag…they said they cant fix it because it was my mistake not theirs…gayy…my chances just went down…crappppppppppp

I know UCSD has rolling admission, and since May 1 is coming soon… is it true that the letters they send towards the end are rejection letters? I haven’t got my letter, and I have TAG…I feel like I’m going to get a rejection letter. I need to know because my spring break has gone down the drain checking for acceptance/ rejection letters.

btw i’m a chemistry major with a 3.5 GPA.
I applied to UCSD, UCLA, UCI and NASA USRP Summer internship (the internship will never happen, but at least I tried)

No. They will be sending out another batch of transfer admits towards the end of the month is the rumor going around.

Don’t worry guys, you will get in.

Weegotfish–:frowning: I only applied to one school because I have my heart set on the UniversityLink program that UCSD has. I’m sorry you didn’t get into SB, I hope we both get in. I’m kind of scared now.

sorry aquafinaa :frowning: I don’t want to scare you! I was pretty upset though because so many people told me I have nothing to worry about and I will definitely get in (obviously, they were wrong!). I don’t want give you false hope like people gave me. How many of the prerequs have you done for the major? (bio…chem…physics…that kind of stuff). I only have 6 completed out of the 12. But, my friend got in with 7/12 of the prerequs with a 3.5, so there is definitely hope for us!

did ucsd send out admissions in batches last year?

Yeah, they sent out a batch on April 16, which I believe was their last batch…this is from cc last year!!!

did anyone get an email from the UC processing stating that if they found an opening at another UC even though you didn’t apply, you can still be accepted?

I got that, then I got and email from UCR to add the school by April 17th free of charge.

I didn’t…

Yeah i didn’t get one either. Does that mean that we possibly got accepted by one school of our choice?

Weegotfish–How do I find out what the prereq’s for my major are? I’m unsure if you mean the assist.org website. If so, there are like 20 prereqs for biology. Could you tell me where I can find that? I’d appreciate it.

my friend got in. 3.25ish gpa phil. major. i kind of regret not sending an application to davis. even though i call it “david” all the time.

has anyone got in since the april 3rd batch?

j.irvin…all pre-reqs are found on the assist.org website.

oh i know. I have all the pre-reqs done for structural engineering.

aquafinaa- Yes, I meant from the assist.org site. And yes, there are TONS of classes to take! For my particular community college, I would have to take 12 semester classes (2 bio, 2 general chem, 2 ochem, 3 calculus, 3 physics) in order to match all UCSD’s lower division quarter courses (they have 3 bio, 3 calc, 4 g. chem, 2 ochem, 4 physics). So if you go to assist.org and choose your CC and one of the UCs, you can select the bio major and it will tell you exactly what courses you need to take at you CC to meet the UC’s lower devision requirements. Hopefully that makes sense :)

My Housing Information just changed this morning, could this mean that their going to send more decisions soon!?

yea, my housing status changed as well…hope they send me an answer soon so I can start submitting my SIR for ucsb
