Maybe the fact that you can't navigate a website had something to do with it?

i'm guessing militarypays is not a cc transfer? Or maybe he is? Why is his gpa so high and why wasn't he admitted?

Hikes school

I'm sorry to hear that. Good luck to you. try appealing?

maybe he applied as a transfer student instead of as a high school student

My buddy got into Warren at UCSD today. He has a 4.0 GPA and great ECs.

there is so such thing as a 4.2 in college haha

Hey all, first time poster here. About 5 month lurker.

Congratulations to all who got in, and sorry for all those who didn't.

I do have a question.

I got accepted with a 3.8 GPA, Sociology major. In my excitement, I got a bit overzealous and started exploring the rest of the site and ended up clicking the giant "I accept the invitation to UCSD" button without actually thinking about what that mean. The thing is, I'm still waiting on responses from LA and Berkeley, and those two schools are my first choices. Should I alert SD that I made a mistake and am unsure of whether I want to accept their offer just yet?

I JUST WANNA KNOW WHETHER I GOT IN!!!! the stupid thing won't let me in, and i've changed my password 7 times in the last hour so i'm sure i know what it is!!!!!!!!!!

dignan,

Ooooohh... that's a tough one. I would seriously contact UCSD.

Ok y'all. I'm in!! Warren College, 4.0 GPA, intended major Public Policy/Poli Sci

ohakkila,

Congrats. You are the as my buddy. 4.0 and a poli sci major.

militarypays -- my brother was an ROTC student that went to UCSD (4.1 GPA out of HS). You may want to appeal their decision. It also depends on your major and what college you applied to.

Warren is more forgiving for ROTC students (less academic stress compared to the other classes). My brother also attend Earl Warren, joined the NROTC and was in the Honors Program for the first year.

If you finished your prereqs and finished IGETC and have above a 3.2 GPA, you should be fine. (granted the major you apply for is not impacted).

I asked a counselor at my school and varied it with a counselor from UCSD: their primary factors for admission is completion of the prereqs, IGETC, and GPA.

my bio major friend w/ a 3.2 is missing almost a FULL year of chemistry for his prereqs, but he still got in hah.

PS: post 300. YES. FINALLY.

I still have hope 12am tonight .....

@poppin3000: Wow, Did your friend also manage to cure cancer? Because that's the only explanation for that.

Also, what chem?

Based on what he told me:

No TAG
3.2 GPA. His exact quote was, "A F'ING 3.2 AND I GOT IN!!"
I think he said he hasn't taken Ochem and beyond?
We both go to De Anza, so could that possibly weigh in?
I'm sure his essays were pretty good, he's pretty smart. (But I read somewhere that SD doesn't read transfer essays.)

^^^ check your PM

Except for the weak gpa, we're in the same boat.

(no articulated course for o-chem, at my ccc.)
