So I've been pretty paranoid lately and going through the past topics for UCSD admissions and there seemed to be quite a few people who didn't finish all their pre-req for econ (especially in regards to the calculus requirements), but still got accepted into UCSD. Taking that into consideration, I just recently dropped my Calculus 1C class because I wasn't doing so well in it and was wondering what are the odds of being rescinded is because of it. I have a 3.75 GPA, but I didn't sign TAG and maintaining A's in all my other classes this spring quarter. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

For admissions, UCSD doesn’t care if you have ANY major pre-reqs done so long as you meet the minimum units…but I’m not sure about course dropping after you get in…should email them…

Yeah I e-mailed them as soon as I decided to drop the class. The reason why I wasn’t doing so well in the class was because the school placed me in Math 1C and I was expecting to be put in Math 1B as indicated on my planned courses for the spring quarter (switched from a semester college to a quarter college) so I was a bit behind in some of the stuff. Anyways, I requested to do summer school to make up for it if that’s what they want, but I really hope I don’t get rescinded. I already messed up my chances with UCLA (I got in, but I know my contract will be voided from this drop), but I’m hoping UCSD will be a little more lenient, otherwise I’m stuck doing winter TAG and wasting another semester/quarter of my life at community college.

i called ucsd about this. maintain a 2.0, 90+ quarter units, etc and you’ll be fine
