<p>I just checked my checklist and the, check e-mail status, is now working. My ucsd e-mail is now available. I still have to set the password. I'm not sure if you need your PAC or if you can just do it with the information presently available. With the e-mail, I will now see if I can open a "facebook" account.</p>
<p>you need your PAC... you get it like may 15th-ish.</p>
<p>you can apply for facebook, they stick you in the network, but you can't actually access the network until you confirm your email, which you need your PAC for</p>

<p>facebook didn't work :( I just registered but it didn't send me an e-mail to the account I gave ucsd.</p>
<p>it takes a couple days to forward the email. at first i thought it didnt work either but i checked my email one day and it was there lol.</p>

<p>Facebook is an internet website devoted solely to online networking. Have you possibly heard of MySpace? If so, it's a mature and more organized version of that. Simply put, everyone who wants to that has a college email address can register and create a profile of themself on this website at <a href="http://www.facebook.com%5B/url%5D">www.facebook.com</a> and others who have also created profiles can find you on the website. It is just a big networking program that help people find other people who have similar interests, or it is useful simply for keeping in contact with old friends and keeping track of where all of your friends go to college. =)</p>

<p>I was trying to activate my account and set a password, but I got a message saying:</p>
<p>No Network Operations campuswide electronic mail address information found for xxxx</p>
<p>Are we not able to set a password until we get our PAC?</p>
<p>cool... now we all appear in the campus directory along with our email! look... <a href="http://libraries.ucsd.edu/campusdirectory/%5B/url%5D">http://libraries.ucsd.edu/campusdirectory/</a> type your last name and you will see a list of people with that same last name... and somewhere around there you will see yours! COOL!!</p>
