<p>How good is the econ program at ucsd? What companies recruit there, and what kind of job can an econ major land?</p>
<p>Recruit? None really. UCSD doesn’t pull in companies performing OCIs as Cal and UCLA. That isn’t to say that alumni haven’t gone on to bigger and better things (I have friends working at Deloitte and Ernst&Young working as consultants or associates there with nothing more than an Econ degree).</p>
<p>What kind of job? Any. Econ isn’t a technical degree – it’s slightly quantitative, but not much so. I feel that a motivated engineering or math/stats student can take just about any Econ student’s job prospects if they wanted to.</p>
