I have been accepted to UCSD’s Earl Warren college, on the online acceptance it says i have been accepted as a major in Electrical Engineering. The Jacobs School of Engineering says that they will send out acceptance letters after UCSD does because they have to review it further. At this point, am i into the Electrical Engineering program or not?
On behalf of the faculty, staff and students of the University of California, San Diego, I congratulate you on your admission to Warren College as a major in Electrical Engineering! UCSD is one of the nation’s most outstanding universities, and we look forward to welcoming you to our campus.

Wow I'm not sure maybe they are sending it to see if you can get into their honors program or something? Check to see if elec. engineering is an impacted major.

hey i didn't get an email. maybe because i was accepted under bioengineering. i did get an email about some reception for accepted students in LA though.

I am sorry i meant to say online not email, i have not gotten anything emailed to me yet. Did the Jacobs School of engineering actually say you were admitted.

I just checked my email and the Jacobs School of Engineering just sent me a letter earlier today...

Dear Admitted Student,

Congratulations! Your outstanding academic record distinguishes you as one of UCSD's top applicants. We want to let you know that the ECE Department offers students a wonderful educational experience. ECE students major in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Engineering Physics.
We look forward to seeing you in September as a member of the Class of 2009!

i didn't know UCSD's bioengineering was that good till after i got in. I am seriously considering UCSD though cuz there are good surf waves. If I get into CAL it would be a tough decision though.

I am having the same problem i was accepted to Ucla for the electrical engineering major also but i also love surfing. It is going to be a hard decision, but right now i am leaning toward Ucsd. I think the prestige Factor of Ucla is why it is so hard whenever i say i think i am going to ucsd over La poeple look at me strangly.

Yeah I also got into Ucla for same major but since UCSD engineering in general is better, I deleted Ucla from the list about the possible schools that I might attend. UCSD is more prestigious in the engineering/science areas which I am more interested in. So i don't care that UCLA might be more prestigious in general. My cousin (a girl) transfered from Ucsd (engineering) to MIT (engineering) after finishing her freshman year. I might do the same if I decide to go to Cal or Ucsd depending wether i am happy or not. Cuz I think it this way there is always grad school.
I just want to enjoy my 4 years as an undergrad cuz one only lives once.

I think U.S. news ranks ucla EE slightly higher but i guess it does not mean much. Bioengineering at SD is much higher than both Berkely and LA.

No i applied to marshall cuz i liked the whole community service thing.
I like to give back to the community and stuff. I also might be a doctor someday. The best thing about marshall (i just found out) is that it has the easiest GEs which is awesome. go marshall!
