How accurate is the financial aid estimated package. My parent EFC is O. But UCSD asks me to borrow about $6000 total in loan. Do any of you think that later when I accepted UCSD as my school, the scholarship will go up. Is there a possibilty that they will give me some scholarship later on… How the financial aid work any way. So stressful as to think should I go to UCR where they give me more money or go to UCSD(my #1 school) and borrow money.

im actually in the exact same boat as you (hey) EFC = 0 , 6000 in loans, and UCSD is my #1 school...but I'm going there regardless of the loans...but im pretty sure the estimated finaid package is pretty accurate =/

I'm no FinAid officer but as far as I know...

When EFC is 0, that doesn't mean you go for free. Most colleges, even the most generous such as Harvard, Yale and Stanford, expect that you will work summers and have a part-time job during the school year to help pay for your own education. The money you earn in those jobs will pay off the loans.
