UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

The housing trick was the only thing that “worked” most of the time but it seems like they have fixed it…

Do any other schools have these tricks?

It’s brutal of them not to give us a date for admission decisions… March 12-18th we are going to be checking like twice a day

Sure, if we’re lucky. For all we know, we could be in the last batch and not hear until the end of April :!!

@screenname34 where did you get 12-18?

omg is the first batch for sure coming out from the 12th-18th??

it should be this friday(11th) if it follows the same pattern as last year. They release all of the freshmen decision and a few transfers.

Haha don’t panic, that was just what I interpreted “mid” to mean. I feel like any day you can reasonably call mid March is between the 12-18th. @Cheolf I have to believe I’ll be in the first batch for my own sanity

Also I think last year will be a poor predictor of this year because of the deadline extension and increase in applicants. I’m pretty sure the decision dates we do know are also later than last years (ie ucb, ucsb etc)… We’ll know for sure soon

:-SS

If you guys go into the housing, will it let you start a housing application? (It won’t let you finish it of course because you have to put that you were in fact accepted and which college you got in to) but I’m curious if others can get far enough to start filling it out…

Where exactly are you seeing the application? When I click on Housing website it sends me here: http://hdh.ucsd.edu/housing/incoming/pages/

Oops sorry nevermind. It’s because I click on the “students with children” and there’s a link to apply for housing.

I see. Clicking on there does give me the option to apply. It doesn’t ask me for my login information so I am assuming it just lets anyone apply.

Looks like decisions won’t be released till late April this year for UCSD:

@falltransfer1 nope the portal says mid March to late April.

@emily2636 How do we know which is correct? My link is from the UC website.

@thales1 I was able to login to off-campus housing but I don’t have a UCSD email.

We can’t really know which is correct until decisions start rolling out. But I would wager that the UCSD portal site is more accurate.

@sbrapunzel same here. I didn’t see a UCSD email…
