I know I am not an ideal candidate but still applied.
from Michigan State University
3.1603 GPA
71 credits including Spring 2016
OOS but went high school in CA
Applied for International Studies-International Business major
Second choice major - Economics
What do u guys think?
really hoping to get accepted.
UCSD is my top choice school
Applied: Sociology (Law and Society)
IGETC: Complete except for stats. Will be done by the end of this semester.
GPA: 3.34
Prereqs: Done
ECs: volunteering, internships, Sports
@JenMarblesFanboy
I have the email but i don’t know if my stats qualify as good enough, especially since CS is an impacted major.
Stats:
UC to UC transfer
Applied: Computer Science B.S.
GPA: 3.73
Major GPA: 4.0
Prereqs: Done
ECs: president/founder of a cs club at my school
I just checked to see if I could list myself as a roommate, with a UCSD email address, and there it was… a ucsd email address. Is it confirmed that everyone has one? Or is this the new “housing trick?” That would be great if it was!
@JenMarblesFanboy I have an email, but I did applied as a Freshman. Though I was rejected outright (no waitlist) and I don’t know why they would make emails for freshman before they were admitted given how many apps they receive.
Stats:
Cal State Fullerton
Applied: Political Science/Ethnic Studies
GPA: 3.71
Major GPA: 4.0/NA (Depending on major)
Prereqs: Done
ECs: Non-profit Work + Departmental Awards
Obviously the main factor is how much my CSU status effects me because otherwise I wouldn’t consider myself borderline.
@TheVisionary I hope they really respect that GPA! If I remember correctly, Cal State Fullerton has horrid grade deflation. Perhaps even amongst the worst in the nation.
I clicked on “make myself available as a listing” and I do have an email.
My UC GPA right now is a 3.95
Are we thinking emails and acceptance are connected?
So how does this housing trick work? It either allows us to log into the housing site or not? I was allowed. However, what message does it give to students who are not able to log in?
Hey everyone, on my UCSD portal, no self-reported AP exams are listed that I reported on my UC application. They show up on SB’s portal, but not this one. Should I be worried?
@elCreido@sbrapunzel I highly doubt that the two events are somehow related. I do have an email address, like many others here, but given that I am missing 3 (or 4) prereqs for a highly impacted major, I expect an outright rejection, not even a waitlist. I wish people just stopped looking for some magical sign. There is no way to know for sure until decisions are released. In the last year’s thread “housing trick” was proven wrong many times. And posts like “OMG! I was issued a ucsd email address! Is that a SIGN?!” only agitate people like me, who know they won’t get in, but hope they might. The wait is stressful enough.
