UCSD FALL 2016 TRANSFER THREAD

@bonjouruc2016 I’m a Communications major with a 4.0 and I haven’t heard back yet :frowning:

@altavista Well, I’m sorry you haven’t heard back, that’s outrageous. However, I suppose we can both sit here and wait together. Good luck to us!

In a way, I find comfort in other people also logging into the portal and seeing the same old "Thank you for your application…by April 30… " :-SS

I wonder if it’s possible that they release decisions based on the student’s proximity to campus. A lot of people on this thread who heard back on the first day seem go to school in La Jolla. My CCC is located in the Los Angeles area and I don’t know anyone in my school who has heard back from UCSD. It doesn’t seem like out-of-state students have heard back either.

I haven’t heard anything either. It still says the April 30th message. I’m assuming I won’t see anything until April. I’ll check everyday, but I don’t have any high hopes to hear anything while it’s still March.

@altavista I was wondering the same thing. Some of the people that said they got accepted mentioned they had u-link, which apparently is some kind of agreement with schools local to UCSD.

@altavista It’s possible they were U-link students. I go to a CC not far from UCSD, and I practically live on the UCSD campus. So, I’m not sure what their method is.

@bonjouruc2016 I am a sociology major and my college is Muir!!

I found out on Saturday that I was in!!

@calbear2016fall Congrats! I hope I get into Muir as well. If you don’t mind me asking, what was your gpa? Did you complete the prereqs?

Community college location might be afactor on when they send out decisions because I think that students from within the area get higher priority.

@bonjouruc2016 My GPA is 3.98 and my community college is in the bay area. Yes i completed majority of all the prereqs. I have one class that I will finish this spring!! You’ll get in too!! I believe UCSD just released acceptances to those who may have had Regents!! Not extremely sure!!

@calbear2016fall That’s so exciting, I’m happy for you! And thank you, I sure hope so. My gpa may be borderline, 3.49 however it’s because of a few bad grades over 12 years ago. Otherwise I have maintained a 4.0 gpa for the last 2 years since I’ve gone back to school. Fingers crossed!! Thanks for the info!

@Kierstin1 “UC Santa Barbara does not provide an early evaluation or early decision for TAG applicants.” To my knowledge, UCSB has not informed anyone of their TAG being approved. Decisions come out March 22nd according to their portal, and since it states on their TAG criteria PDF that TAG applicants don’t get early decisions, no one knows whether or not they have been admitted to UCSB as of today. To claim that they’ve been accepted to UCSB when all they did was apply for TAG is a misrepresentation of the facts. If you would like to read about it, you can do so here: http://admissions.sa.ucsb.edu/docs/default-source/PDFs/ucsb-fall-2015-tag-criteria.pdf?sfvrsn=4

Hello, Political Science / IR major here. I haven’t heard anything yet.
Would you guys advise me if I’m competitive as a transfer student?

Admitted: UC Riverside
IGETC: Will completed by this Spring. (Only 2 subjects were left when I submitted the UC Application)
Pre-Req.: Finished except 1 or 2.

  • I had a dramatic grade improvement

Wish you guys the best of luck!

Thank you.

Hey, has anyone heard back from admissions since Sunday? It looks like the last person to post their acceptance was from then.

@sd4ever Nope. I think they were just the lucky few.

I have U-link and I go to community college in San Diego and I haven’t heard anything back yet. Should I be worried? I know last year they sent admission to freshmen and those that had contracts like U-link first. I really hope there’s a batch coming out tomorrow.

Does anyone else on here have U-link with UCSD and already knows their admission decision?

@Solstice1 I’m in Ulink too but still haven’t gotten a decision either

Is anyone’s UCSD email working yet? I saw in the “housing trick” that I had one but when I check on it through myapplication it says “No electronic mail information was found for my studentPID.”
