For some people asking. I went to a special admissions day specifically for Veterans back in October 2015 and asked Admissions officers some of these same questions. UCSD strictly goes off of GPA., they don’t care about your CC honors, essays, or other things ( of course they will be considered when you have 2 applicants equally competitive). Course pre reqs are RECOMMENDED and not required for Fall 2016. Starting Fall 2017 pre reqs will be required. When I individually met with them after briefings they said it boils down to GPA GPA GPA and of course a competitive GPA changes based on what program you applied for, don’t quote me but i believe they said a competitive GPA for 2014 was around 3.5 and above.
@jstang909 straight from the horses mouth! Thanks for the info, it’s much appreciated.
In all fairness, I received my admissions email on a Saturday morning.
@PantherDuck From previous years and people just telling me lol sorry
What are they releasing next week? Enrollment times for housing?
@sbrapunzel Next batch of decisions
jumping on the bandwagon! hope it’s okay that i can still post my stats. this is my first time doing this so i hope i’m answering everything okay!! :))

Has anyone heard of the UCSD housing trick
Apparently it worked last year, but they changed their system and doesn’t seem to work anymore
oh wow! dang it!
Hey everyone, I self-reported 10 AP exams on my UC Application. I need those units to transfer. On my UCSB portal, it shows my AP exams and my scores (I got in). But on my UCSD portal, my AP exams don’t show under “reported scores”. Why is this? Should I call them?
@solostish same thing happened to me. I called and asked and they said that’s normal. They also told me they received my AP tests so I shouldn’t worry about it. (My AP tests still aren’t listed just in case you were wondering)
Same thing happened to me too^
Any clue when decisions will start being released?
So it seems like the decisions will be released around this Friday?
probably somewhere between friday and monday…the wait feels so long
Whoaaa I logged into mines and it says my decision will be posted April 30 is that bad?
Yeah, man didn’t you hear? That means you got rejected.
Just kidding it says that for everyone. At the very latest decisions will come out April 30th, but historically they’ve usually released them all at once. I’ve seen some sources that say it’ll be mid-april and some that say it’s late-april, but it’s really all speculation. It’ll probably be somewhere between March 15th and March 20th imo.
Oops I meant April 15th to April 20th. That was a mistake
The wait is killing me. I’m really hoping to see their decision from my portal on this Friday!
