You guys, when I go on the off-campus housing tab it allows me to list myself as an available roommate and the email address is an @ucsd.edu with my name on it… is that the case for everyone? Am I reading too much into it? Lol I seriously think I’m going crazy
@marinacma I think we all are in a same page. Hopefully it is a good sign.
Sorry to break hearts, but I was one of the few to have a UCSD email back in early March before the first wave. Unless my application was not only one of the first that they viewed but also was accepted immediately, which is especially unlikely given that I am not a CC applicant, it is unlikely that means anything.
But history suggests that we have less than 48 hours until we find out. There is no point in spending it stressing. I like to spend times such as this reminding myself of the reasons why I rejection is a possibility and how many options I have if that is the outcome. It mellows everything out and puts it into perspective.
The second batch should be this Friday, isn’t it?
I’m thinking it will start Friday, but roll out till next week.
It would be pretty funny if not having the @ucsd.edu email meant that you’re accepted :-j
I actually don’t have a UCSD email when I check…
I was accepted in he first batch and I STILL don’t have a UCSD email. I wouldn’t worry if you don’t have one yet.
Would a 3.6gpa be competitive for the global health major (BA)?
A lot of people asking about what GPA is competitive here. Average GPA among transfers (not including the updated fall grades) is a 3.36 according to this:
I think that if you’re a community college transfer for a major with above a 3.5 GPA and all prereqs done then you’re chances are probably pretty good. For impacted majors you’ll probably get on with over a 3.7 and prereqs done.
I’m thinking impacted major may be good with a 3.6 compared to last years avg GPA check it us
http://studentresearch.ucsd.edu/_files/stats-data/admissions/transfer/aptrans.pdf
I wasn’t really sure what to believe between that and this
“Among transfer admits the average GPA is 3.63, down from 3.69 last year.”
so I just went with the higher one to be safe
have one more class will be taken this summer. Do I have a chance ?
High GPA , No Tag
@Brian1990 Are you being sarcastic? If not, then you should know that summer classes do not effect admissions. Also, as far as your GPA is concerned, it depends on your major, and UCSD has no TAG.
Hello friends!
I was accepted as a one year transfer about a month ago!
Stats:
Major: Global Health (BA)
GPA: 3.7/3.8
College: Roosevelt
EC’s(in college): Communications intern last fall, Stanford hospital volunteer and Chem tutor
IGETC: finished by spring
Pre-reqs: There were like none? But I am currently taking the biology series.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you guys have any questions
Remember that there is a difference between average applied GPA, average admit GPA and average enrolled GPA.
What do you mean three GPA?
@Brian1990 the GPA that DuCouteau was mentioning is the averge GPA that applied to UCSD not the average GPA admitted
I too had the @ucsd email back in March. I don’t think it means anything. I think they changed the whole “housing trick” this year.
