I’m assuming you who received the e-mail were early admits for the Transfer Triton Tour? The wait is driving me crazy! X_X
@doihaveashot2016 yeah, I just got the email this morning! I know regular Transfer Triton day is in May so it caught me off guard
@thinkweism I guess so! I got my acceptance on March 11th for Political Science, a non-impacted major. I also live in San Diego so I’m not sure if that has anything to do with it? Good luck, I have my fingers crossed for you!
@jloomagoo Congrats! I seen the early acceptance waves and was hoping I was one of them, haha. I guess it was even worse on me because my boyfriend got admitted in early February for grad school at UCSD (to be fair, he’s SD local as well) and now we’re just waiting on mine (non-SD local). I totally forgot how slow the admissions process was.
Oh wow! I got the email and didn’t even realize it wasn’t the normal Transfer Triton day date in May. Thanks for pointing that out guys haha

This is off-topic from transfer admissions, but did anyone else apply for UCSD’s STARS summer research program? (for future applicants reading this thread- check it out! It’s geared toward community college students wishing to pursue graduate and doctoral programs) Anyway, asking because we’re supposed to hear back any day now and the anticipation has been killing me!!! I’m so impatient, especially with UCLA/Berkeley decisions right around the corner.

@jloomagoo Hi. Yes I applied! But i didn’t get in LOL. You said its for community college students? Im already at a uc, maybe thats why I didn’t get it. Oh well. Yeah they said they should notify you by April first. I got my email like April second or third. Check your email and your spam too, its sent by Elisa M. Maybe theyre late cause they want you. 
@ald6191 this year it was 2/19, but yeah it’s unfortunately pretty early! December and January were stressful months
Do you know anyone who got in? I only know one other person who applied and he got an email on Monday April 3rd saying he didn’t get in. I haven’t heard anything back. I wonder what happened to push the notification deadline back?
@itskelvinn what was your friends GPA?
It wasn’t that high, I think he told me just over 3.2 . Although I do know of this other guy who got in last year STARS 2016 and he told me his GPA was in the low 3’s, same area.

GPA: 3.71
2nd year at Miramar (SD Community College)
Applied for research in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering
Research experience: Conducted independent research of a binary star system and published my findings
Haven’t heard back yet (4 days past the original notification date).
Will update when I hear back.
@itskelvinn Most haven’t heard back yet. Some heard March 10th but the predicted date when they will release the rest is April 21, so I wouldn’t worry yet! : )
Ohhh you’re talking about transfers. Lol I thought you were asking about the STARS Program. Its a seperate summer program for the summer at UCSD. They said they were sending out all notifications for the STARS program on April 1st and only some of us haven’t heard back yet.
But anyways yeah I know that transfer decisions aren’t going to be made for a while. I’m just not going to expect anything for at least 2 more weeks.
Anyone here know of anyone who got notified of being rejected by UCSD for transfer yet? Just curious what the sample size is
