Same. I’m so confused how most of you didn’t get in. I can’t begin to understand whatever their process is. I hope you all appeal and get in. You all truely deserve it.

@joboco yeah, definitely planning the appeal. Either way will probably attend SC as its cheaper and closer to the Bay
But the rejection was definitely unexpected.
Either way let’s keep our heads held high. Degrees are nothing more than pieces of paper. They dont determine anything 
Admitted 3.7 philosophy major. I can’t believe so many of you overly qualified applicants got rejected. I’m kinda wondering if they’re assuming LA or Berkeley will accept, and figure those are everyone’s first choices anyways… :-/
@UCSDenied Does your community college have a transfer center? They should be able to help and give you some ideas for an appeal.
@Transfer510 I got an F in calc 1 (one of my major reqs), and called to let them know that im retaking it! and will do self- paced calc 2 this summer, everything i gonna be done by july 1st. They say as long as everything I put as planned is done by that day, everything is fine!
Rejected with a 3.77 GPA for sociology. I’m speechless about all these other rejections. The world has turned completely upside down.
@UCSDenied I sent mine out when I got rejected- I basically told them that they didn’t know I ran into medical issues and that’s why my grade dipped in the fall, but only 1% of appeals actually go through all the way so… bleh.
@TheBayorLA I don’t know if that’s the case- I lack a lot of prereqs and LA and Cal are hella uptight about them… plus if anything UCSD would want to compete with them wouldn’t they?

@Motascol Oh so they were willing to work with you on that?? im just like scared their gonna take away my acceptance although in the email I said like I could do the classes I dropped in summer
Looking through the rejections and I’m in awe… why would the 3.7+s w/ all major pre reqs and 60+ transferable units get rejected… I guess this year was really holistic when it came to personal statements and ECs or something like that… I’ve also seen this trend on the UCSC transfer thread I believe…
@singhisking339 Im so sorry about that! u have a perfect GPA, i got in to Econ with 3.67! must be due to my essay. dont know! im not even near to the area.
Yeah, in that case prereq completion can be crucial. But I have been seeing a lot of people get rejected from their “safety” school, but then get admitted into one of their top schools.
Just a thought. Don’t lose all hope! UCLA thread is about to be insane tomorrow.
@BoredEngineer I gave my PEs to my professors, as well as my English high school teacher who helped over 50 kids in his time at the high school, get into Cal. He told me my essays were very well written and superb.
Still got rejected.
With a major gpa of 4.0 and a cumulative gpa of 3.9 and on track of getting a 4.0 this semester.
Dean’s list every semester…and only one B+ on my transcript
All pre-req completed and IGETC completed.
