@Transfer510 Yes, they were, however, they emphasized in letting me know that calc 2 must be completed prior to July 1st (transcript deadline). But, before she (ucsd counselor) said something, I went ahead and did that promise! I’m retaking Calc 1 self-paced at Rio Salado college (online) and will take calc 2 right away (after finish calc 1).

@BoredEngineer So is it true they really took personal statements into consideration this year? In threads of past years its been stated that UCSD definite GPA only. I even had a counselor at my CC who said the same as he used to be a UCSD admissions officer. Huh. Madness.

I understand why CS would be really difficult to get into. The department has gotten too big and they’re trying to control growth, and they also need to take in those who got in through inter-department transfer first. Surprised about non CS majors not getting in though.

I got rejected today for the BS in psychology.
My GPA was a 3.84 but I was missing about 3-4 pre-requisites. However, I still got into UCI, UCR, UCD, SDSU, and LBSU.

and damn maybe ucsd is aiming to increase their yield this time? i mean they have been doing a major marketing push to get up in the rankings, they recently have been on a campaign to get like $2 billion in donations.
