UCSD Fall 2019 Transfer Thread

@brebre123 They show the 25th- 75th percentile, like HopefulUC said. So yes, they admit lower and higher than the range posted. For anyone reading who is confused by the numbers, admit range and enroll range will always be a bit different (admit usually being higher). Students reach and grab-- enrolls may consider themselves lucky they got in to any given school, while the admits with higher GPAs usually have other (and sometimes) more prestigious offers.

@ucdochopeful2k19 hahah!! well report back if you find any abnormalities!!

@brainbag totally agree but… one thing… you say “(admit usually being higher)”… how could enroll ever be higher? Thats like saying “Well we accepted, 100 students to this department… but enrolled 10 more that we didn’t even accept”. I’m assuming the maximum enrolls can never exceed the accepted. Or I don’t understand the numbers at all. haha

@Salsabb yo

You all will be the first to know. That’s all I’ll be doing for the next 24 hours.

This radio silence from UCSD has got me SHOOK :frowning:

@ucdochopeful2k19 Lol “I think the background is a new shade of blue on my portal guys”

@tacoturnup HAHAHA you’re like guys if you take acid and wait 20 mins it says you’re accepted on your portal!!!

@chlotaylor EXACTLY

Wow I’m really nervous for this one…realizing deep down I don’t want to go to UCSB…

Why don’t you wanna go to SB? @kristinpete

All I know is my gpa is in between the enroll range but just under the admit range so I was a lil worried

So a random thought just occurred to me… I was crazy crunching the numbers a month ago on when they would release. Everything pointed to an early release, yet CAtransfer predicted the 24th for UCLA (yet very few people heard reason to believe it), then it came true. At the same time they predicted that UCSD would be late April with no evidence pointing to it, and from what we have seen no admissions counselors confirming that even today. Yet here we are… in very late April with no release. CA transfer… has connections that I bet they can’t disclose even to the UC’s themselves. Just a thought

@Scoobybrew Numbers referring to GPA, not number of people :slight_smile:

If my lurking on this thread has taught me anything it’s that two different sources heard from visiting reps that the drop would be Friday afternoon because of a new system used on freshmen applicants. Slowed everything down. It’s possible that CAtransfer heard of it soon after the application deadline and just… never told anyone lmao

Freshmen ruined everything

Everyone in the other UC threads talked about how this thread was lame but I low key like you guys better

Transfers, do your duty and clock the first freshman you see upon arrival

This thread was lame for a while but now we’re running on anxiety alone with nobody else to empathize with us lol

@brainbag Yea I tend to agree but the numbers are compelling–For San Diego Mesa College (the school I had mentioned previously), here are the enroll numbers (from Mesa) for 2018 by UC (for all majors):

School…Admitted and Enrolled… Overall Admit Rate(%)…Overall YieldRate(%)

UCB…24… 21… …59
UCD… 17…55… …32
UCI …13…42…30
UCLA…39…23…61
UCM…1…54… …10
UCR…17…66…24
UCSB…14…57…24
UCSC…20…65…23
UCSD…217…49… …34

This means that 66% more SD locals enrolled at UCSD than all of the UC’s COMBINED
