But I also signed up for email updates on the admissions portal recently, so I could be trippin’ hahahaha. This wait is the WORST.

They accidentally sent an email to some of us several weeks back intended for “future tritons” inviting us to an overnight thing…Clicked on the link though and saw it was intended for freshmen.
But you got that email right before they’re supposed to send out decisions…

I have not gotten any emails :neutral: besides the accidental Overnight Program email intended for incoming high school seniors (which totally played with my heart).

So, I’ve been stalking this thread for weeks now and finally decided to bite the bullet and make an account so I could be miserable with everyone.
Here are some rough stats because I don’t know the formatting:
Location: A rural California community college
Grade: Sophomore, will have 60 credits completed by the end of the semester.
GPA: 4.0
Test Scores: Never took any
Extracurriculars: Did ASB in high school, have worked part-time for a newspaper this whole year of being a full-time student
Sex: Female
Race: White/Latina (Second-generation Mexican-American)
Major: Visual Arts/Film/Communications (Visual Arts at Muir for UCSD)
Schools Applied to: UCSD, UCSB, USC, Pitzer College
Rejected: UCSB
Waiting: UCSD, USC, Pitzer
Special Circumstances/Notes: I graduated high school a year early through the CHSPE so, I’m freshmen age but will have junior status. I began taking college classes as a high school freshmen. Also, 6 of my units are actually UCSD/UC credits as I took a summer course at UCSD. I believe the credits is the reason why I was rejected from UCSB as well as the fact that my AA will not be completed due to my college not accepting some of my credits (like the UC ones).
So, I’ve already made contact with people at UCSD when I was there for the summer class. However, I have not received any of those emails anyone is talking about. I was feeling pretty great about my application but now it is getting closer, my gut is giving me a negative feeling. I felt the same way about UCSB (my safety school) and I ended up being right.
Also, not fishing for support or asking anyone if I have a chance. I get annoyed when people do that, lol. Just sharing my story!
This is ridiculous. I’m calling my congressman tomorrow. “Do you know how long it took me to photoshop my head onto Steve Jobs body at the iPhone release just to bolster my application as a techie?! Also, I don’t have another 500k$ laying around, respectfully, Mr. Vargas”.
damn im not getting any of these emails … I’m scared
@AceIsMy_HikingPuppy yea and @scoobybrew couldn’t finish the whale part or else they’d get banned, and we don’t need scooby to get banned, we need scooby and everyone else to be here and sulk with us haha. #miseryenjoyscompany
@bomnd I wouldn’t worry about it…It made me feel more uneasy tbh. They probably sent that email instead of my rejection one on accident
hahah, I’m just here to ease the tension for everyone and pull off Scooby masks when ever it’s necessary. I’m right here with you all. UCSD is my top choice, and am eagerly itching to know! But if a Scooby mask is needed to be torn off… I also do that hahah
@FemmeFilmFatale I’d be surprised if you DIDN’T get in. Your GPA is well above both the admit and enroll GPA’s for your major ( https://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/infocenter/transfers-major ). Do the 6 UCSD credits apply to your current major? Perhaps UCSB rejected you to protect their yield, as I imagine if your stats are high for UCSD, they are surely high for UCSB. Just a thought.
