Does anybody know when we might be able to find out when we will be able to register for classes in the Fall? I know I will receive a notification when I have been given an appointment time but would like to sooner. Some of my intended classes are already filling up...

I share your concern; I think we’ll receive our registration appointment times during Summer Transfer Orientation Day/Academic Advising.

Btw, can you post a link that shows the enrollment class counts already? (Student class registration database or something?)

Oliver is correct, you get your registration appt during your summer advising around mid July. Don’t worry, they usually hold a few spots for transfers in the core classes. Still, it’s going to be tough to get in to all the classes you want your first quarter. Figure out if your gonna need to take any GE’s or electives during your time at UCSD and take those your first quarter. Those types of courses give you flexibility and you can pick amongst a variety of courses. Some are bound to still have spots open.

Continuing students fall enrollment starts in early June so they def have an advantage.

If you follow that link that I posted earlier you will see that Fall enrollment has already started for continuing students. How do I figure out which courses hold a few spots for transfers?

Also, will taking summer courses at UCSD boost my chance of getting an earlier registration date for Fall 2011?

Oh wow, you’re right. Im not sure how you would go about knowing which courses hold spots for incoming students. Im pretty sure they hold spots in the first course of a major series, writing requirement courses, and Pre-calc/Calc courses.

Taking summer courses will do nothing for your registration date. I did it the summer prior to transfer and I had a pretty late registration date, it was like late August. Good luck.

Thanks I am going to need it seeing as how most of the CSE courses I am planning to take in the Fall are already about 60-70% full.

I looked at the enrollment calendar and last year new student enrollment began on the 26 of August. Eeeeek! >.<
